Tow Strap question

I picked up a set of tow straps from turner and went to install them, after a easy by hand quarter turn it just stops like it’s the wrong threads. I double checked and it’s supposed to fit and I didn’t want to really try and force it so my question being has anyone run into where you really need to put some torque behind these in putting them on?

These are what I got:

If you have your original BMW towing eye, give that a go in the hole. If it goes in okay, place the two threaded sections (on your towing eye and your towing strap) alongside each other. If they're the same thread type, they'll mesh perfectly with each other. If they mesh, inspect the first few threads of your strap and look for any collapsed threads. If they don't mesh...that's your problem. The strap has the wrong thread.

Have you still got the oem ones? You could check the threads match up perfectly.

If the oem one goes in easily then you know not to try and force the new one in.

It’s amazing how a small amount of rust / grit will prevent a thread from doing up by hand though. Hopefully this is all it is.

EDIT - too slow

What he said precisely.

Hey guys. Thanks a bunch. You know I thought when I got the car the previous owners didn’t keep the tow eye and emergency pack in the car but looking today hey what do you know it’s there lol. I checked the threads and they match and the strap does thread in the back something I hadn’t had time to check so yep it appears that the front is just fouled up a bit so will be spraying it a bit to clean it up  thanks a bunch guys
