Tow Bar (Pic Added)

We should dispatch a Forum Aesthetic Correction Team to remove it :ninja:
... and to slap some sense into the owner
Cannot think that it was ever approved by BMW or your licensing authorities. On the E92 (1 series coupe) a tow bar was available on the 120d and 125i, but not on the 135i or the 1M coupe.

He must have been towing something at some point... but what?

Caravan?
Trailer?
Another car?

Why would you, in a Z4?

probably a spare parts trailer for his other Zed, the coupe..... just kidding Taz...

More than likely it was for a utility trailer full of mountain bikes or the wifes purse.

He'll be a more mature driver, possibly retired, who decided to completely ignore his wife's disapproval and bought the car he'd always wanted but circumstance / money / kids had, till now, prevented. She drives a mint 2003 Pug 206 called 'Millie' with half leather seats and 80k+ miles on the clock... Turns out that her disapproval has turned into quiet rage which has manifested itself in the form of a complete ban on using her car for trips to the tip (for our colonial friends - that's a landfill, but tidier). As a result he needed to fit the tow bar for the small trailer he had to buy for getting rid of garden waste - QED.

It's not all bad though - he's had the trailer painted sapphire black and fitted with 10" 108's, and he's got a hard-top & 2 removable child-sized M Sport seats for when the grandchildren visit. Sorted.
