I need to touch up a couple of chips on front valance. Where is the best place to get a touch up kit from ? Is Halfords any good ?

Cheers.

I have a BMW one, however i have used halfords ones on previous cars and they worked well..

Just dont use the supplied brush/ tips to fix chips... but something like a cocktail stick.

A cocktail stick you say Aquazi ?

The supplied brush/ tips will excessivly apply the paint/ lacquer... while a cocktail still will allow very light pinpoint application. Just dip them into the paint and remove the excess from the stick before dabbing it into the stone chips.

best to apply the base paint in thin layers, using the cocktail stick, then apply the lacquer after 24 hours and then compound it down + wax.

Compound it down ?

BMW one. Haven't used it yet but if you get one, here's a tip; store it indoors. The guy in the Parts department said you shouldn't have it in the garage as you should store then stuff at room temperature so the paint and lacquer doesn't go bad. I suppose the composition could change. Didn't want to risk anything, so have the kit indoors.

The Halfords one is fine colour match is no worse than the BMW kit i have both the Halfords is easier to use due to the nib style pen no big blobs afterwards.

Guys I'm being shown how to machine polish the car this week. (DA not rotary).

Should I fill and laquer the couple of chips before hand to get a smooth finish?

Was going to do the chips at a later date, but I guess makes more sense to do them first.
