Touch Up Paint

Age related marks on my old sterling grey E85 Z - bumper scratches, stone chips on bonnet etc.

Located the paint code inside the engine bay - 472/7 ... Tried only Halfords so far and they had 4 separate hues for the code 472, none of which are 472/7.

Has anyone had similar experiences or found a touching up paint that matches a sterling grey Z perfectly?

Have you tried visiting a paint store? they can mix to match colours on site, more handy if you are able to take off a petrol cap or wing mirror to ensure a close to perfect match.
 
Where are you based? Complete Car Cosmetics in Derby went over my whole car for stone chips etc for £120 + VAT. Really good job and was done in a day...

That's impressive. I'm based down in Devon unfortunately - still trying to find a solution!
 
i bought a can to spray the replacement washer cover that decided to make a break for freedom.. could i spray it into a pot and use a brush to touch up small areas??
