Touch up paint

Theres been a few recent threads on chippex/Dr Colourchip repairs for stone chips which I have been researching with interest. I've basically concluded that I'm going to be better off using regular touch up paint, with a tiny paintbrush, and a whole flipping load of patience!

Can anyone recommend a good touch up paint? I'm sure in the past i've used one (with some success) that was premixed with lacquer which saved loads of time filling hundreds of chips. Or is it ok to mix the paint and lacquer up yourself?

Car is sapphire black btw

That's what the Chipex/Dr Colourchip paints are really, I can't see why you won't get the same result mixing any standard touch up and lacquer together. I've seen videos of well respected detailers doing the same thing too, so I think you'll be fine.

It's the bit which comes after the paint which is important really if you're trying to hide the damage, fill the chip until it's slightly proud of the original paint, then once properly dry wet sand it or use a denibber tool, then polish it. If you've never done it before, maybe practice on something else :P You can get cheap scrap panels from ebay, or try and find a scrap yard :)

Literally just been researching this myself, and have just ordered from Chipex. I actually ordered for my old car just before I sold it, so still have the lacquer I'm going to mix along with assorted stuff like wet and dry paper, pencils and tiny pointed brushes.

Would you let us know how it goes please? :)
