many thanks for looking

i think from looking at the pictures, these have been rushed and over sprayed caused runs, this is what i told them :headbang: :headbang:

That is shocking. We have just migrated the forum tonight so there are less people on here than usual but come tomorrow I think you might have more luck getting photos. That looks like a complete rush job and certainly not something you should accept.

Not good mate. I wouldn't budge until it's put right. Do they have any wheels in their showroom on display. If they have, then I'm sure they will look better than these otherwise they would get no business. If so, you have something to compare them with right there and then.

Don't give in

Not the best. Further to the poor finish - properly done these wheels should also be split before spraying (not done hence the buildup of paint where the 2 parts join).

There are loads on here that have had 108's refurbed. Have a search on the forum and collect a dossier of rims. Then go back to the company that did yours and suggest they are in the wrong business.

They are very shoddy, they've sprayed directly on to bolt?!

I have experience of bodyshop work from a previous life;

As mentioned above, the build up of paint/lacquer between the split rim is due to the paint shop not separating the two parts before spraying them up, this has caused excess paint/lacquer to run into the space and drying.

The raised spot imperfections are caused by not flatting down the base coat before applying the lacquer.
(If this is the case, the surface will feel smooth as you rub your finger over it, yet you can see the imperfection.)

This is a bad case of poor workmanship :!:

PS: If you are separating split rims enure the correct torque settings applied for when you put them back together.

You should name and shame this place due to the general consensus of the work being of such a rushed poor quality! Would hate to think some other poor bugger has their rims booked in to recieve a similar poor finish :x

That is bad.

What exactly did you agree to when you dropped the car off?

I call them up asked for a price for 18" split rims to be refurb she quoted me £250 "THERE WAS NO MENTION THAT THEY DIDNT SPLIT THEM"

when I went to collect the car i saw the alloys and wasnt happy and told them so

the Lady manager said thats the best we could do with them as "WE DONT SPLIT THEM" this was not mentioned prior to getting them done i mentioned all the paint in the lines she said they had tryed to scrap it out with a blade the best they could.

if they had mentioned this prior that they would just spray over the top i wouldnt of got them done, and found another company that does.

then they offered me the wheels at a much cheap rate i declined, i left the car with them so they are redoing them.

I need a list of companies that do split the rims in the midlands area birmingham wolverhampton way to see what can be done

I could do a better job, in the dark!

This highlights the need to check prior work and confirming every detail before getting work done.

All the alloys in there showroom were perfect at least 99% perfect, i was lead to believe mine would look the same 99% perfect :-(
