Total loss.

Provide them with adverts for AT, PH and other site of similar cars, that is the price they should be paying you. What you paid for it a few months ago does not matter.

My wife had her car written off one month after purchasing, I actually got more back then we paid for it as I could prove a replacement wasn't available for what they were offering.

I hope this happens, I have been told hire car is gone this week. So will be with no monies and no car. They truly are clever. I used my postcode and searched for cars with under 60000 miles and with a 3.0 engine. £7250 was the lowest I found within 30 miles of my house. Would that be a reasonable distance to travel as someone told me valuations can be affected by local valuations of cars. I just want another zed. Got this horrible feeling finance might have to happen for the full value of the car.

Cheers all

People are willing to travel some distance for a car, make your search area bigger. Have they specifically told you that you can only look 30 or 40 miles from your postcode? If not don't just be looking with a option to buy but be looking for an option to buy and the best amount of cash you can get for the car.

Get the adverts and send them to the insurance company. Basically ask them to find you a similar car with same options and miles which has not been classed as a cat C or D and they will struggle as there isn't any.
