Torque Wrench

Any suggestions on a particular brand or type? I'm getting ready to swap my tires out for some winter slicks and was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions. Otherwise I might just stop by Sears this week and pick one up. Thanks!

If your looking for a good one, Snap On tools has several. The type that you dial in the setting is easier to use than the pointing needle type, problem with both is keeping them calibrated.

Doh. You missed their sale by about a week. They had discounts on tools and a torque wrench that regularly sells for $79 was on sale for $39. That torque wrench is the dial-in type and even without the discount, it's still pretty good and worth the price.

Tire-rack sells one for much cheaper but it's not as nice as the Sears' one. Although I bought one from Tire-rack and have used it for 3 years now and it's still doing its job.

Well, If you are going to use the t-wrench occasionally don't waste your money on Snap-on or Mac, and go for Craftsman, and have it calibrated periodically as 20ducks suggested

Thanks guys! I'm just going to stop by Sears this Saturday and pick one up along with the special 3 ton jack/stands/creeper set that's on sale. Once the tires arrive I'll just pick up a case of beer and go to it!

You're always more than welcome to stop by and help me finish the case!
I'm gonna see if Mark can head over and at least give some moral support and/or prevent me from dropping the car on myself. It's been a while since I've had to turn any sort of wrench.:(

Mine's a craftsman. Come over, drink my vodka and beer and try it out. I've got the 3 ton jack and stands and creeper set from sears too. Everything you need. Check it out and see if it's what you want. :D
