In my infinite wisdom while doing some work on my car I succeeded in tearing the inside hood material. I had been taking out the inside rear quarter panels that house the 3" speaker and assembled them back but then operated the hood with the small section behind the roll bar missing. There is a sharp knife section of the quarter panel the cut into my hood making a one inch tear on the drivers side and a half inch tear on the passengers.
The problem I have is despite putting the covers back on it is catching when the hood goes up and the tear will get bigger.
Anyone got any idea of how it can be repaired?

Also is the outer "double duck" like material waterproof or does it reply on the inner material too?
