Top stopped working

My top stopped working. I find that it is a electric/hydraulic motor and needs hydraulic fluid. I think the motor is still working by the sounds it makes. The hydraulic fluid filler is in an impossible place behind the interior panel behind the driver's seat. You have to remove the entire top and a lot of interior trim to get to the reservoir. What an extremely crappy design.
Does anybody know a better way to add fluid? Can you just remove the interior trim panel?

There are two problems I read about most.
1. Leaves stop up the drain for this compartment and water ruins the motor.
2. Fluid needs to be added.

I don't know why it would lose fluid either but I hope this is the problem since fluid is $35.00 and the hydro/electric motor is very expensive.
