As for TG, Why the hell did they decide to talk about an amazing looking jaguar with fantastic technology for 2 minutes, but then decided to talk about a frigging skoda for 25 minutes ! they are running out of ideas fast, i wish they would stick to showing us cool cars like the Atom V8 feature at the beginning.

A fair point, but they've also had previous criticism that they don't review enough everyday cars. I thought it was quite a good episode, but then I'm slightly biased

I thought it was ok. Not sure who the target market is for the Atom though. Who drives a 275bhp one and thinks it's too slow :idunno:

always a disappointment these days :(

i watched the iraq xmas one and was so bored I switched over, couldn't be bothered to watch the end.

5th Gear however, 30mins of concise car reviews.. not as entertaining overall but it *is* still a car show.

Thought the episode was great: all the time the fast forward button was in use. 10 minutes; if they filmed it to fit in that time slot there'd be just as much entertainment and enough money left over from the budget to produce a car program.

Not a classic, but not bad. Who the hell was the guest by the way ?

John Bishop - standup comedian. The mild Stan Boardman of the current "comedy" generation.

Lets hope the series improves from yhus.

Stan Boardman was a comedian?

Thought it was OK. Should have created a 'new' Stig colour? John Bishop is from Runcorn so not a scouser (like most Liverpool fans)! Predictable (but funny) joke about him stealing the wheels off the Porsche though.
The lad can certainly drive though.

I thought it was good too and I was very impressed with the Skoda TBH! :o

The Atom is lovely, but at £150k well over priced. I'm sure you could mod the 275bhp one to similar performance to the V8 at a fraction of the cost.

John Bishop is a comedian who was good on Live at the Apollo and the like, but has since gone a bit Harry Hill/mainstream

Can anyone explain to me how a Caparo T1 can lap 1:10 while the V8 Atom does 1:15? Don't they both have similar power/weight?

Did you see the handling? It was pretty nervous. Must take some serious skills keeping that Atom on a leash.

I actually thought this was a decent episode, i like it when clarkson does his mildly insane car reviews to highlight the absurdly banal nature of a straight car review program. This was a good one but wasn't quite up with the fiesta/beach landing review. In his defence evo has also been banging on about the yeti for ages too, they even put track tyres on theirs to take it around the 'ring!

I thought it was quite funny when tiff needell got out of the atom v8 lol was expeciting more slagging at the moment to be honest!

I AM THE STIG!

Not really, I'm too tall and can't drive for sh*t anyway :P . My money's on it being Anthony Davidson who (I think?) fits the bill of being pretty short?

Oh, and Mrs a11y now wants a Skoda Yeti... (although to be fair she's been reading about it in my evo magazine for ages anyway).

I read somewhere that Skoda have a factory in India where they make the Yeti.
Where do the cars sold in Europe come from?

Thought it was a pretty poor episode, when I read they looking at the life 911 (even though I'm not into them) I thought that could be quite interesting, imagine the drag race using an example of each of the majorly updated versions, should have known better.
It's starting to look more than a little bit tired now and I hate saying that because it was one of the few things on TV that I looked forward to watching.
