Interesting development and a good move by Amazon.

I have Prime, but never use their streaming services. However, having some more interesting programs on there might "force" me to look into how I can actually use this service on my tv ...

Won't be available until next year though.

Although another Amazon Original I saw the pilot of - Hand of God - will be be premiered in Sept.

Ye im in the same boat could be interesting tho!

I've got prime, but also need to stop being lazy and start linking the streaming of it to my TV! Not a bad move, prime is great anyway for delivery etc.

Top cloud provider, top sellers, now targeting top tv streaming away from Netflix perhaps? Step in the right direction and probably will help.

Excellent news. I have Amazon Prime (and Netflix) and they're pretty much all I watch to be honest. My 2 Samsung telly's are both Smart TV's with WiFi & all the apps, so I'm ready to roll Messrs Hammond, May & Clarkson :)

Surely the bigger news/rumour is that Jensen Button is or might be in talks with Beeb about co-hosting with Chris Evans? Big JB fan here, hopefully he'll get the gig.

Always been keen on prime but put off by the cost. Now i order so much i'm actually losing money by NOT signing up, combine that with the new topgear.. i'll be signing up and investigating prime on my main TV soon... :p

smart move by amazon, will bring in huge audience to their platform. Also smart move by the guys - huge budget and global distribution profit potential without BBC vs BBC worldwide faff.

I ran out of HDMI ports though so this could become expensive, might need a new amp to host all of this :)

I need a AV receiver really, i'm running off an old amp that has no video capability at all. time to get it all hooked up properly with sonos etc :D

How do you stream this to a smart TV?

Thought having a Smart TV meant you didn't have to stream it from anywhere? My Smart TV has WiFi capabilities and the Amazon Instant Video app installed. Maybe you need to download the Amazon app? My TV is basically a 48" HD tablet on a stand :)
