To be honest Top Gear does my nut in nowadays, everything seems faked, I just can't believe anything they do... (I still watch if though! :wink: )

Fifth Gear is a better show but not on my regular viewing list. I just love VBH's dirty minxy laugh, but never been a fan of Plato even though he loves the Z4M... He just moans too much in BTCC!

Totally agree with Chris Harris comments.
 
trouble is top gear has a format that's a bit repetitive.

foreign country.
buying blind.
slogans on the side of cars.
one car has poor brakes and crashes into the other two.
someone sets fire to something.
and so on....

it was funny once or twice, but quite frankly it's now a bit annoying that i'm pissed off at having to go to work Monday morning and I've part paid for a fat motormouth and his 2 sycophants to broadcast the same old every sunday...
 
I find both quite dull, more so TopGear

I only watch 'Wheeler Dealers' and 'Chasing Classic Cars'

All I can draw from this is Harris has a decent following. Would love to see him on TV. (though given Ferrari's admiration for him, it's not in his favour!)

Maybe 4 or 5 years ago I would have been really annoyed about missing an episode, but nowadays I've seen probably two from each of the last series and I'm not that bothered.
 
Top Gear for me but not sure why....

I went through a stage when I hated the three C@Cks but have now realised that if you watch it as entertainment it's pretty good. Clarkson has started to realign his OTT emphasised effigy of JEZZA and is now making me believe he is a nob, but a funny one. The other two are slowly taking those reigns, Hammond leading by quite some distance.

5thGear on the other hand used to be far more educating until they started to copy T.G with there half ars3d attempts at the T.G challenges.

Hate how smug Tiff is and for the moppy long curly haired one :evil:

Still sort of prefer the original non entertaining T.Gs when they had all manner of cr@p cars reviewed on there. (car geek)

I agree,topgr is a tad more entertaining,but 5th gr has gd features,car tests etc. Tiff n Plato bounce well off each othr..jonny is just a car nut..normal kinda guy,and u gotta love vbh.
 
Where's the option to like them both? Fifth gear is a bit more down to earth and has both interesting and informative topics (at times). Top Gear is essentially comedy as there's little car content now, just what they get up to in them.

Top Gear when its on form (which is rarely these days) can be really good, but when its bad its that bad that I stop watching.
So it can be both better and worse than 5th gear, I have therefore voted for the more consistent 5th Gear.

Also what is a series with Top Gear these days? 3 shows, a special & a couple of "best of's"?
I just get the distinct impression that their hearts aren't in it any more, and they're just going through the motions for the money-machine that Top Gear has become. The show is as tired and jaded as JC is himself.

It has to be top gear - It's (5thGear) is on sky now isn't it ? I haven't got a wok on the side of my house and don't intend to either!
