Top Gear Is Shite

I agree with every criticism but compared to just about everything else made and aired on TV these days it's a decent watch. The episode tonight was worth it for the f-type sound bites alone.

Tonight's top bit. Them confirming everything I have been saying about the RRS for years. That's it's bought by people who know nothing.

Low point. The ending. Driving the red, white and blue jags with the flags was pure cheese.

X2...
I mostly watch movies but Top Gear is one of just a few programs that I watch.

I can agree with most of the criticisms of TopGear here, but even they mock themselves that they never truly do real factual consumer tests on mainstream popular cars.
But isn't it broadcast in 99% of all countries now and one of the most popular shows on earth?
Someone watching it!
I still enjoy it, yes it maybe getting a bit long in the tooth, but its better than COUNTRY FILE! Lol

Indeed - but if you swapped Julia Bradbury from Countryfile to Top Gear that might make it more interesting . . .

That would be hilarious !

Thing is he is not as negative against the country way of life as he makes out he is on Top Gear! ;-)

Cant really see whats ridiculous about what i said. Perhaps you should open your eyes a bit instead of trying to contribute with worthless pish.

In my experience of the Beeb, it would be more likely to request that the patriotism is toned down a bit; lest we upset anybody.

If you can't see you were talking pish it's you that needs to open your eyes. Since when has promoting British industry and jobs been propaganda you muppet?!! :headbang:

There's a well know theory that countries can talk themselves into a recession. Through news and media reporting on negativity a response is one of battening down the hatches, spending less/hiring less etc and subsequently increasing the possibility of recession. If that theory hold true then you could argue that a good way or reversing such a thing would be to inspire confidence and talk up a recovery.

As I say, just a theory.

By the way, I like Top Gear and think its a fine entertainment show about cars. Fine enough to be the biggest format export BBC Worldwide has and watched in 99% of the worlds countries; the revenue of which comes back to the BBC and helps keep the license fee down and pay for more content.

I still enjoy top gear a lot. As entertainment and a good laugh its absolutely fantastic.

Subscribe to EVO & Drive TV on you tube if you want some real car reviews.
