I’m not one of the writers, you insulted everyone on the forum who watches the show.

So I'm an "idiot" for watching TG and "old" for preferring it when it was a primarily a car show with a bit of banter on the side. That's fair TBH

And surely the only way to discover it is for idiots is by watching it.
Doesn't that make you............................ :poke:

Some faltering logic here... :D
Just because I wrote it's made for idiots doesn't make everyone seeing it idiots, does it.
Also, that's just my opinion, no worries there.

But my fishing isn't faltering it seems :D

There is so much actual good car content on youtube now though, I'm not sure there's a place for it on mainstream TV any more. Did you see the Fifth Gear episode with Karun Chandok and Jason Plato reviewing Z4 vs Cayman T vs TTRS? Utter sh!te.

I love these threads where people say how crap it is blah blah but still watch it 😂

I see it as an entertainment program and am not afraid to say I like it.

But then I’m an old tw@t 😂😂😂 (that’s in general, not just regarding TG!)

I never specifically look out for top gear but if I come across it channel hopping I watch it.
While it was always ok to watch I hated when they abused the 2nd hand cars they were using. One in particular that stands out to me was the 300ZX where Clarkson threw one of the glass roof panels down a ravine. The car started out a really good car, like most that they use, but they just crash into each other carelessly with a schoolboy "sorry" after they had done it. It got old quick. Once was a laugh, 10 times wasnt.

Don't watch the episode where they fly to japan and buy a really nice Mazda RX7 and a Nissan Skyline GT-T, then proceed to lash them together with tyres between them to make tandem drifting easier

Was that a £250k job?

I couldn't determine from the clip how he lost it either. It looked like a fairly straight bit of road with no drastically bad corners.

Hard to comment that a show is cr#p if you haven't given it a go.

So for the record. The first show of this series was indeed cr#p and I didn't bother to watch yesterdays show as a result. :D

As I'm also getting on a bit, I reserve the right to randomly catch it at some point and change my mind based on what I find at the time. :P

Well I must admit it I have watched it since it first started and think that the producers have lost the plot with these two idiots! The only knowledgeable guy is Chris who I respect as a great driver and he knows his stuff. I think I will give it a miss in the future!

If you watch it again look at the tyres , its a rear engine supercar that appeared to be tyred up with Pirelli rubber from the cars production era  rear engined with few if any driver aids that would be a lively motor out in the Dales early morning springtime ( when it was filmed ) & on those tyres i'm surprised he managed more than 10 mins before he binned it :P

Was a watchable hour for car fans but i'm not a fan of the Harris delivery at all , he's probably better off sticking to what he did before Tv & i struggle to digest the cricketer in any aspect  just leaves me the Bolton lad which i can take or leave , i'l stick with the show for the season

It just seems to have become yet another shiny floor entertainment show now and not much else. I liked it before when it seemed to chime with a quiet Sunday / hair of the dog type of night down the pub.
