Top end rattle ?

Had my 2003 Z4 3.0 for a couple of weeks and doing a few checks and mods
Just noticed a slight rattle/ticking/buzz from top right hand side (passenger side) of the engine - can't really hear it while driving just when bonnet is open.
Appears to be from inlet manifold air box area
Any one got any thoughts on this please ?

the fuel injectors make a ticking sound, could easily be them.

Also worth checking the DISA valve for peace of mind.

would DISA valve rattle before it fell apart ?
I did think it might have been the injectors clicking

DISA would rattle even if it has a small amount of play. You can easily check DISA; just disconnect it and see it rattle goes away. Don't forget to connect it again
