Top 3/Bottom 3

Very new to the car as well: 2004 3.0l roadster

Top 3:

1. Fast
2. Light/responsive steering
3. The ride on smooth roads (motorway)

Bottom 3:

1. The rough ride on local roads (RFTs?)
2. Would have expected more features inside as standard on the 3.0 (e.g. sat nav, better hi-fi)
3. a) No parking sensors b) View from the rear window (agree with the posts above)

Just thought of a couple more for the bottom list:

4. The jerk when going from 1st to 2nd gear - very annoying. Is it just me??
5. Cost of extras

Oh, and one more to add to my list, the cheap door 'clang' when closing the doors. Sounds like a fiat Panda. Mine is a 53 plate and i think its just the early cars that suffered this. Either way, its no exciuse and not BMW quality in my opinion.

Have an early car and the door sounds OK :D

3) Speedo and sat-nav can occasionally be a little tricky to read at a glance. That or my eyes are getting feeble in my dotage.

Have just returned from the opticians following my annual test: it is def the gauges not my eyeballs!

Top:
1. Cornering w/zip
2. Sport button!
3. Steering road feel

Bottom:
1. Rain!
2. Entry level NAV
3. Rear visibility with soft top

Top 3:
1) Dropping the soft top when the weather is perfect: sun, slight breeze, blue skies and white clouds. Just beautiful.
2) The look of this car from every angle. I still catch myself doing double takes as I walk away from it.
3) The sound of the engine at redline and how it pulls your head back.

Bottom 3:
1) Sloppy dealer service
2) Relatively expensive maintenance/repair costs (I'm used to my old Acura's low-maintenance)
3) Did not come with chrome exhaust tips! A small addition that really makes the Zed look much nicer.

Really had to think about the bottom 3 though (except for item #1).

Z4 M Coupe
Top
1) Great power in every gear
2) Incredible steering feel/wheel
3) Amazing drivers position with miles of hood ahead of you

Bottom
1) CDV (fixable)
2) Rear visability
3) Having to pay gass guzzler tax :(

Top 3...

Bags of torque
Looking at the car from the side rear angle (know what i mean?! :D )
QUICK roof mechanism

Bottom 3...

108's flaking :(
1st to 2nd gear is an art to get perfectly smooth
Standard slip about seats. God I would change these in a flash if i could.

Tops:

1. Overall performance (acceleration, handling, braking)
2. Looks. Beautiful car IMHO
3. I absolutely LOVE top-down driving on a cool evening

Least faves:

1. It begs to be pushed all the time, hard to drive slowly
2. Brake Dust
3. Bluetooth volume is too low

Top 3

1. Looks are #1 on this list for sure. There aren't many cars on the road that looks as unique as our z's do.
2. Trunk space. I dare you to find another convertible sports car with as much trunk space as our z's. It make driving the car practical. BMW really did a good job here in designing such a great retractable top.
3. Overall handling and performance. Regardless of model, 2.5, 3.0, M...there's pleny of power and great handling on all of them.

Bottom 3
1. This is 2.5 specific. They really shouldn't have even bothered with a 5 speed manual. Considering the gear ratios are nearly identical between the 5 and 6 speed, the only real difference is the .85 ratio of the 6th gear. Both have 1.0 for 5th.(yes, the rear gear ratio is different but they could have could have still done this with 6 speeds across the board). I'd love to have had the cruising gear.
2. run flat tires. These just have to go. I understand that they want to keep trunk space. But the price of rft, their rough ride, and how much they make the car tramline make them a poor decision on a sports car. Which is why the M's don't have them!
3. Cost vs. quality. Really for how much BMWs cost, they should be more reliable. We all have warranty stories over little items. Not huge deal while under warranty, but these things should be a bit more refined. Plus I plan on keeping my car indefinitely so I'm dreading repair costs when the warranty is up.
