Top 10 Sporting BMWs

Interesting list, but given that the Alpina B7 was deemed sufficiently mass-produced to make it onto the list I'm surprised that the E46 M3 CSL didn't, not to mention the 850CSi (although I'm not sure how many of either made it over the Pond).

So, in the interests of encouraging a massive thread, here's my top ten: -

10) E38 750i
9 ) E85 Z4 M Roadster
8 ) E9 3.0 CS
7 ) E52 Z8
6 ) E36 M3 Evo
5 ) E26 M1
4 ) E39 M5
3 ) E31 850CSi
2 ) E36/8 Z3 M Coupe
1 ) E46 M3 CSL

10-MZ3 Coupe
9- E9 CSİ
8- 2002 Tii
7- E39 M5
6- 507 :)
5- E52 Z8
4-MZ4 Coupe
3- M6
2- E46 M3 CSL
1- E30 Evo

The E30 deserves Number 1 - they`re simply great. I`ve owned two in the past, the second being an Evo II restoration project. Both cars were fantastic. Even with 125,000 miles on the Evo II, a dyno run by a fellow enthusiast who showed 218bhp which from just 2.3 litres is pretty good even today. The higher it revved, the harder it seemed to pull and the engine was a real screamer. There are some cars around with 2.5 litre engines producing 320bhp but it cost a lot of money to get that power. With lightweight engine internals I think these 320bhp engines are running peak rpm at 10,000 rpm
