I am fed up of people thinking they can say what they like KNOWING they are going to cause "disdain" just because its an open forum. I would never dream of doing such a thing, who am I or you to criticise anyone without knowing the full details?

Debating a topic is an entirely different matter.

Neither you nor Tim knew the full situation but still think its ok to tell us how heroic you would be in the same situation. Neither of you asked me if it was safe for us to stop to help.
We don't live in action films. My husband nor me are Will Smith where we stop at risk to life and limb to drag the person from the upturned car.
This is real life and to put other human beings at risk is madness. As Nosa said the police would have kicked our arses if we had stopped on that road.

Perhaps you should think before you comment and if you think someone had acted in a way that didn't help a situation you should ask questions first BEFORE you open your mouth.

Theres no need to get yourself worked up Carol and there are no keyboard warriors. You know absolutely nothing about me so suggest you keep any personal comments to youself or PM me.

Everyone has opinions good or bad, its an open forum.

Personally I would have done everything I could to hep in any situation dangerous or not, its my family background so its an in built natural thing I would personally do. Many people simply don't understand.

Like you say, I wasn't there and yes it is easy to say I would do this and that. End of the day your OK and the people in accident and that is all that matters.

My advice on an internet forum is don't take things personally. :wink:

I thought about the not stopping bit when I read it first.... Then read through it again 3 times - and found myself thinking I would have done the same with nowhere to stop, and was just relieved nothing bad had happened to Carol & family.

I mean, any reasonable human being (and I count everyone regularly on this forum in that definition, probably foolishly) would stop if they could do so safely, and I believe if she could then Carol would have stopped, 'knowing' her as I do from here. So I guessed there was a good reason for not doing so. Perhaps on an 'open [& friendly] forum' it may have been more reasonable to ask exactly why Carol & Mr M didn't stop than to simply instantly judge ?

Nosa's right - the coppers would've been very angry at another motorist potentially causing even greater hazard, despite good intentions. One additional and inattentive driver later and all of a sudden you have three cars blocking both lanes, multiple casualties and a nice roadblock for any other high speed traffic

Not sure I can even think of anything you could do to help...the road would need closing properly or you would merely be increasing the risk of further accident.

Understand everyone reacts differently but i would wonder what anyone just travelling along the road could add constructively to this situation? nothing. destructuvely? lots.

Perhaps you could stop, check no one's in the car and torch it so people can see it a mile off.

I suspect 99% of people would've reacted in exactly the way outlined in the OP.

Tim, it kind of is personal when you are accusing me of not doing all I could to help someone who is potentially injured and at risk in a car accident. So again, pot calling the kettle black.

You ask me not to get personal but that's exactly what you've done to me, got personal. Judging my judgement.

Imagine how you were potentially trying to make me feel should I have heard they had got badly hurt or, worse, killed.
We did what we thought right and your comments were personal enough to potentially make me feel incredibly guilty by not 'doing the right thing'.

You can't tell people not to take things personally then get personal with them. Or is it me??

I could get very 'worked up', as you think I am and call you a stupid twat then say, don't take it so personally, its only an Internet forum.
