Toe in the water re selling price?

Just putting my toe in the water re selling my Z4, what price can I expect if I sell it.

It's a 2006 3.0i Automatic with 66,000 miles.

I had the car imported from Japan in 2017, some Japanese history and all invoices etc. from my ownership are present, everything works as it should and no expence has been spared by me.

Being a Japanese import their is no corrosion as salt is not used in Japan, the underside is very clean, I have only used it between April and September in my ownership and it has been garaged when not in use.

It's worth whatever someone wants to pay for it really.

Service history?

Any problems?

What state are the brakes in at that mileage?

Suspension refresh?

Tyre tread?
 
without more detailed history Id say between 3750 and 4500.. despite being a 2006 it is a pre facelift.. looks well tho :thumbsup:
 
You only bought it two years ago so it's probably worth what you paid for it, minus a little depreciation and the value of any wear to consumables and any upcoming servicing. Then take off a hefty dealers premium.

Jap' imports are usually worth a little less than equivalent UK cars, but if yours is genuinely a 'minter' and loaded with desirable kit that might balance it up a bit. Jap' imports are generally sourced via their huge auction operations and cars are accurately graded from S (as new) 6, 5 4, etc... down to ***/R/RA which are damaged or repaired. Do you know what grade yours was, it may help valuation?

The plank on the dashboard will put some buyers off but can be changed. Looks nice :thumbsup:

No problems with it at all, passed the last 2 Mot's with no advisories, brakes etc all good, being a Jap import its in mint condition especially underneath.
Runflats removed on importation and now has spacesaver spare with jack etc
All in all a good Zed

It's in A1 condition, since importation I've only used it from April till September, then sorned and garaged for the Winter, it's like a new one underneath!
 
Fairly unlikely it will be 'fully-loaded' as for some reason Jap imports of Euro cars seem to be a little underspecced (maybe the options were too expensive new there, I don't know?). I'm guessing no cruise control or heated seats? And has the satnav been converted for UK operation? The CC can easily be sorted with a loom from srhutch (and a stalk if you can find one).
On the positive side, It has PDC, and will probably have folding mirrors which seems to be something very rare on the UK spec Z4's.
As pointed out, the underside is usually in good condition due to the different road conditions in Japan.

It has heated seats and folding mirrors it also has climate control as well, sat nav is still Japanese and from the research I've done it's not easy to convert to European.
It has a minidisc player, cd 6 disc autochanger as well, not fully loaded but reasonable spec I think.

You did quite well with the spec, although I meant cruise control for CC. And yes, converting from Jap to UK/NZ/Aust satnav is not cheap at all, so understandable why you'd leave it. A lot of owners don't want it in the E85 anyway as it's fairly outdated tech nowadays. I paid big money to convert my E89 i-drive/satnav (still waiting on the BT to be done 6 months later :headbang: ), still not sure if it was worth it, but I wanted it as close to local spec as I could get it.
Again, good luck with the sale, the paintwork looks spectacular.

Well it's certainly rare - but I think there is a good reason for that! :lol:

But it looks like a good clean example.
 
Finally managed to sell after getting a message out of the blue from my eBay listing, I got very close to my asking price so I'm very happy!
My BMW journey has not been what I expected, in the two and a bit years of ownership I've had three oil leaks - top valve cover, sump and oil filter housing seal.
The MAF and most of the induction pipework has been changed and recently the coolant expansion tank had to be changed.
My previous Summer toy was a Mercedes SLK and in four years of ownership all I had to do was yearly servicing and an air con recharge.
Maybe I was unlucky with the Zed but from lurking on this forum and others it would appear that a lot of other owners have had to do the same repairs and more, like water pump, roof motor and vanos issues to mention a few.
What I can say though is every time I drove the Zed it always put a smile on my face and I guess that is the main thing!
I'm now down to my Porsche Cayenne but I'm looking for an Audi TT Quattro so staying with the German 'Vorsprung Durch Technik'

They do use salt in Japan, and plenty of it, that's an urban myth I'm afraid. The reason it's so clean, and cars in general from Japan, is that the Shaken is so expensive that people really, really take care of their cars.
