Just wondering if any of u guys Put the nippa in your z4? Can I get a stroller in the boot? Also is there an airbag de activator in all models? Is it safe to have forward facing seat in passanger seat?

Thanks

Have 5 year old twin girls and had Z4 for three years, they had never been in it until two weeks ago with booster seat, although they wont be going in it again for some time, if ever.

Wouldnt want to put a younger child in though without airbag activation function though which can be retro fitted if you havent got it.

I think they all have deactivation, just some have the button others you have to use the key in the passenger door pillar

Havn't got either on mine  I somehow feel deprived even though I will never have kids in the Zed

My car has the deactivation on the passenger side of the dash (you have to have the door open to see it though). Also have the latch system (M seats)for the feet of the seat to slide under. Forward facing with airbag, rearward facing (infants) turn off the airbag.

You only get it is you specified ISOFIX seats IIRC

Kids all grown up AND NOW they don't want to be passengers but the driver....... NO WAY ! :!:

Ah, I stand corrected... I must admit to never having actually checked for the deactivation thingy on mine :)

Hmm a toddler AND the Z4, now that would be grabbing all the ladies from everywhere! So uhm can I borrow anyone's baby? I'll put the top down, maybe even give the baby a little BMW hat to keep the sun out of it's eyes. :D :driving:

My wife gave birth 6 weeks ago to our first child and as the proud owner of a Z4 Coupe she had been badgering me to change the car for something a bit more practical. I kind of dismissed it for a while wanting to suck it and see before selling up as I feel it will mean taking a big step back as realistically it is a hell of a lot of car for what it cost me to clear the finance. We would end up with something much more mundane next time given budget contraints.

So far I have found it to be absolutely fine. We have a Quinny Buzz travel system (for those who know what it is - certainly not a small peice of kit) and I can comfortably fit in the frame and a carry cot in the boot and then put her in her car seat in the passenger seat (I permanently disable the passenger airbag now as I would rather an adult headbutted the dash that my baby being whacked by an airbag). To be honest I have a 3 series touring and find that the boot is slightly wider in the Z4 coupe than the 3 series and as a result the frame fits easier whereas in the 3 series it has to go in at an angle and takes up more room.

The only big debate is around the fact you only have 2 seats but we are fine with this as we use the 3 series if we go anywhere as a family. The challenge will be when number 2 arrives!!

PS not sure if there is a big difference with the roadster but hey if you were silly enough to buy that rag top then thats your own fault!
:poke:

Thanks mate, I take it the travel cot is slightly bigger than the stroller therefore that will fit fine? She won't travel in it 80% of the time, we also have a big nissan

You might want to try a Golden Retriever puppy, you can't get charged with kidnapping (or being a perv) Trust me , it works, too bad I didn't find out until I was married.

thats what the 3 series is for. My Z4 is only used at weekends for the kids, and usually they are off to different activities, so one in my car, the other in my wife's focus.

As for airbag, I think deactivating it is only for rear facing baby seats. Boosters use a normal seatbelt in a normal position, so the airbag should still be safe. Government guidelines recommend moving the seat as far back as possible, but they recommend that for the driver too - its general advice not just for kids.

So if they're just using a booster cushion/seat it should be fine with or without the airbag
