Ok, so for those of you not aware of instagram, it's basically a phone app that let's you add filters and basic effects to pictures you take on your phone. It's very crude and limited, but it can be fun. Anyway, I took a few photos throughout today, so here's my story of today as told by instagram :)

As you all know, we've been having alot of snow lately, which sadly doesn't so much for the cleanliness of our beloved zed's.

So today, I went for a drive up the lakes as the first chance to have a decent run. As always, absolutely love the car. Aside from the squeaky brakes as mentioned in another thread she's running an absolute charm. Plenty of 6ft snow drifts to keep you on your toes, and plenty of snow for picturesque views so a thoroughly enjoyable drive.

Took those snaps on the road between Coniston and Barrow. Wasn't until I got home I realised just how disgustingly dirty the car was. It gave me all the motivation I needed to dig out the autoglym kit and really have a good go at the car.

Good rinse and extra rinse with hose to get rid of all the dust and grit. Two bucket method clean with snow foam shampoo, dry with microfiber cloths, then seal and wax with autoglym deep shine. I'm wearing a great deal of protection doesn't need to be added with the fantastic superguard stuff Paul put on this before I bought it.

Did a proper clean of the roof for the first time too, never been so scared as applying the autoglym cabrolet clean kit to the roof for the first time, but I'm delighted with the results. Sadly I didn't think to do the roof first so had to go back and clean the car again, all good :D

Next up were the wheels. I'm not a fan of the 103s as it is, but they really do get ridiculously filthy and are difficult to clean. Here's a before and after, although I'm going to take off and re clean the wheels tomorrow properly.

So that's the outside done next was to attack the inside. I fully cleaned and polished all dashes, leather seats and trim, polished the glass and vacuumed the floors and mats.

And that's where I am now, cars looking absolutely brilliant inside and out :D

No doubt it'll be filthy again in a few days, but I've definitely had fun doing it, weather was nice and I even found myself polishing the exhaust I got into it that much :D

Think there's likely to be some rain tonight so hopefully I'll wake up to something like this tomorrow :D

Cheers for reading if you made it this far, just a bit of fun and a few cool little pics. I wrote this on my phone so apologies for any mistakes, made worse by the fact I keep glancing out the window to see the car :D

Almost forgot the most important one. Finally during my clean today got the most important job done, and put my z4 forum sticker on. Not sure why it's taken this long :)

...Buuuuuuuut is that a sponge you cleaned the zed with? :o

Yep. Use a wool mit to do the initial rinses and microfiber cloths to dry and polish, but nothing beats a proper sponge when your cleaning the car with snow foam stuff. I use two bucket method overload and thoroughly rinse it with water and a wool mit first to get rid of anything that could cause scratches or swirls.

Seems like a rational approach
