Today's rant..

Snap On guy has pi$$ed me right off today!

Ordered a 14.4 micro lithium ratchet from him a couple of weeks ago, and it was delivered to him, a week ago Wed.. Now he calls into my neighbours place in Liverpool on a Wed, so asked him to drop it off for me. He "forgot" so I had to wait until this Wed just gone, EVEN though he'd invoiced it to my account when he received it.

Guess what, he "forgot" to leave it again, even though it was on the van. So I told him he'd have to drop it off to me, 15 miles out of his way...

He dropped it off at the shop last night, so like the big kid I am, I was looking forward to something shiny & new when I got here @ 0730 this morning...

Looks at the box, which was a bit battered, takes the ratchet out and WTF...

Has he been using it as a bloody hammer??

Sent him a message with photos, asking if he'd used it as a hammer and his reply (which really wound me up)??

"No, but I suspected it may have came from another van as a return, do you want me to get another for you, I only checked it was present."

SERIOUSLY???

My response? "Well, if that was the case, why didn't you send it back instead of trying to palm it off on me?"

So, a new one is on order, and I've told him I'll expect some extra discount from the £220 that the "body only" is costing me...

Rant over..

Mike

That's a pi55 poor service from Snap-on, I would email them direct as this reflects badly on them.
Lay it on thickly Mike

Will wait to see what sort of "extra" ££ I am offered when the replacement arrives..

Contact Snap On, normally much better service from them. I"m sure they"ll take care of the problem.

As with franchised businesses , the actual product good the best thing ever , but you just deal with a middle man, if emailing doesn't gain anything,, I'd at least find a new snap on man,

I dont think I would want a replacement for the minimal amount of marks on it, after all a days use and there will more than likely be marks on it somewhere, unless its going to sit in a drawer.
I think complaining too much will spoil the relationship you seem to have with your snap on guy, you have said you have had discounts before, these could stop.
If it was me I think I would be happier with a small amount of money back.

To be honest, it was his reply telling me that he thought it was a return and that he didn't inspect it, that is what has peed me right off. In my mind, if he thought that to be the case, and if it were me, I would have checked it thoroughly before delivering it. The fact that he just assumed he could pass it off onto me further annoyed me.

Yes, the tool will get marked in use, but at the end of the day, I've paid for a new and unused item, and as such if I mark it, that's my problem.

This will be getting replaced, as otherwise, everytime I pick it up, the marks that I didn't cause will annoy the hell out of me!

Some may think I am being petty, but if you'd bought a new car, you wouldn't accept marks on it would you?

I agree Mike, to say it was a return is a bloody joke, if you buy something new, it should be new. Make fuss
