So after pondering about if I should take the plunge and buy the Michelin PS4’s, I put an order in with black circles, which subsequently got messed up twice with the wrong tyres being supplied.
So after cancelling the order, I went and purchased the Goodyear asymmetric 5, in the original 19” size, less the run flat detail. Today they were fitted to the car along with a full alignment.
All I can say is wow!! What a difference a set of rubber can make to the driving experience. Absolutely zero tram lining, much much quieter, and the steering now feels as though it is actually connected to the car. You can drive over uneven roads and not feel like the car is going to shake itself to bits.
I know it has been said before, but the run flats kill the Z4, and anybody considering the change should make it there next mod.
I was able to get a full set of good years fitted for £530, so a bit of a saving against the Michelin. They might not last as long, but only covering around 4000 miles a year tops, they should see me for a couple of years
