Have taken today off work. The sun is shining and my parcel arrived from the ultimate finish .com with my latest order. So I'm going to spend the day claying, polishing and glazing the zed. Ill post pics when Im finished. Woohoo! Just realised I need to change the signature pic. Apart from it being almost lifesize, I have made some mods since then.

Well..... I've clayed it with Dodo juice till my arm felt like it would drop off. Used Autoglym to polish, then the autoglym glaze which took ages to dry. Then mcguires Gold Class wax to top it off with. Tyres were dressed with Autoglym instant tyre dressing (recommended) and autosol on the exhaust trims. Result. However, Silver just doesnt reward you with a deep shine in the same way as darker colours! z4time004.jpgz4time005.jpgz4time006.jpgz4time002.jpgz4time003.jpg

Looking good. What is glazing though??
Its a liquid formula. You put it on a cloth, smear it over the surface and let it dry completely until its a fine dust (which took about an hour today) then polish it off (takes no effort) It is said to leave a deep shine behind. My Golf looks great with it on as does any dark coloured car. Silver is less obvious but still gives a great deep shine. I then use a soft polish over the top of that to give it a highly reflective finish. Then it usually pisses down.

Looking good mate  i take it you mean AG SRP as i have not seen a glaze if so it normally dries very quickly.

Silver can look great but needs a few layers and when the light starts to fade it looks the best http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=13556&p=201918#p201918

I used SRP first then a coat of Autoglym 'exterior gloss protection'. Its a fantastic glaze. Can't get it everywhere, I usually get mine from Ultimatefinish.com I've used a few glazes but prefer this one as it takes no polishing off once its totally dry. I find the only drawaback is that you cant use it on a damp day as it just does'nt dry and leaves smears. Not a major problem as I wax it afterwards anyway. I know what you mean about the fading light, I went to the shops about ten to seven and it looked awesome in the dusk. The G/F has just read this over my shoulder and has said we're a bunch of saddo's. She should be grateful I'm not on some dodgy chatline looking for extra marital sex

Been using SRP+EGP for years until i discovered Carnuaba Wax what a difference on Silver i would find my car looked flat in direct sunlight but after using Vic Concours the Silver paint has a nice warm glossy look even in direct sunlight.

Know what you mean about EGP to cold never drys to hot drys to quick hard work to get off and lots of dust.

I not a saddo just a bit mad but i was born that way

Agree - a good quality carnuba wax beats all the so csalled 'quick' fix waxes and if applied on a good base surface looks fantastic. I use Raceglaze 55 (http://www.raceglaze.co.uk/signature-wax.html) not cheap but a little goes a long way and the finish lasts for ages - waters beads off and makes washing easy.

Im guessing your arm was had it after the whole job not just claying? You shouldnt have to put any pressure on while claying.

Cheers

Its the cramp in your fingers that gets me.

Wolfgang has a special pad that you can stick the clay to. This pad has a velcro backing and can be stuck on a special handle. No more fear of dropping the clay. No more cramps.

Their sealant is very, very good as well. I've washed, clayed, cleaned and sealed my Z4 a few months back with their products, and am thoroughly impressed.

For my fellow dutch, http://www.carclean.nl/Merken/Wolfgang.aspx sells their products over here.
Looks a bit like a surgical appliance to me....... so hey, I'll give it a go
