today i...

Watched the Olympic torch go by. Thousands of people up the road so would have been very difficult to see anything, we walked a few hundred meters down the hill and it was virtually empty, we had a fantastic view of them running down the hill. Great for the kids...like me!!

Removed the wee squeaky latch for the soft top from the top of the rear cubby.
Fitted my new private plate.
Changed my tax disc holder.
Fitted a BMW performance knob and alcantara gaiter.
Tried to fix my wipers which park high on the screen. Removed the motor, gave it a clean, refitted everything and they still do it. Bugger. I'm not going to try again unless it gets worse. I had to glue 3 of the scuttle panel clips back on.... Crappy design.

Why?

I work in a large Exhibition Centre and our staff parking area is sometimes handed over to the client. :(

I can get to work in an hour on the bus so rather that than leave the car elsewhere on site.

Not happy standing in Tottenham High St at 22.00 tonight waiting for a bus though.

Today I.......trod in chewing gum which is now smeared all over my car mat...............wish I'd took the f*****g Bus again. :headbang:

Fitted some Goodyear Assurance Aero wipers, bought two, 21" and 20" from Costco for £6.95 each, they are whisper quiet, completely smear free, and seem to work at higher speeds fine.

As others have mentioned about other Aero blades, the nearside blade sits away from windscreen in the far corner when parked, but works perfectly when wiping., makes seeing my sticker even easier :D

I got these too, couldn't resist at that price :D

Haven't fitted them yet, will do later. The OEM blades stick up away from the screen on the passenger end too - not heard of any blades that don't tbh.

Bing, Yes they are a brilliant price, it was a 30 second job, and was a bit weird just how quiet they were, thought I had better get some as the weekend meet as it is looking a little...wet. :(

...badly cracked my windscreen whilst changing my wiper blades. What a tw@t

Took the old blade off, was putting the new one on, the arm slipped out my had and the spring SMACKED it down on the screen. Nice star pattern cracks that will only get larger :(

On the plus side, the windscreen had a large badly repaired chip in it when I bought it and is the original so is pitted to hell, so all in all it has been highly offensive to my OCD for some time. Now I get a new one without the guilt of breaking it deliberately

Oh no! Whats happening to you guys? Earlier in the week I read about some of you kicking off your own door handles...now breaking your own windscreens! Clumsy

Nightmare. As you say, at least you have a good excuse to replace the screen now. Bit of a coincidence, I warned some fellow car enthusiasts only last week to be careful with those pesky blades springing back.
I always stick a rag under the blade for safety. Seen it happen a few times.
