That, my friend, is what is known in the trade as a "proper bloke day"! I doff my hat in your direction, sir....

... treated the zed to a dose of paint correction on the bonnet. Took it to a local detailer / bodyshop this afternoon... the result is a vast improvement on what it was before!

Phew, just in time...

The bonnet had three separate areas where some cretin had used a scouring pad (or similar) on it... probably to remove bird crap or something. It was really badly scratched between the washer jets. Can't see it at all now. Much happier!!

Looks great

Just need to sort the discoloured scuttle, mine is in the same state :(

I was wondering that myself... I mean, I'm unhappy with the fact that it's badly faded, but not quite £90 new part unhappy yet...

Ditto. Never mind, I will allow my subconscious to edit it out of my vision, along with 100 other little niggles :D

Well, Ranski went and did it... I had to go and try to clean that scuttle

Just given it a going over with Autoglym Bumper Gel:

Only took five minutes, so I guess if (when) it fades again it's not the end of the world to add it into the wash / polish /wax / vacuum cycle

Autoglym Plastic Restorer - awesome stuff, it lasts and doesn't run off and streak in the rain. Also using a heat gun can prolong it's effects. Using a heat gun works a treat on items such as Ford Ka bumpers.

£90 for a new one and most likely a pain in the ass to fit? Sod that!!

Try placeing a roll of tape on the panel & use a little pressure to get a seal, then fill the middle with hot water, leave it to soften the shite then you can remove it without damaging paintwork.
