Got overtaken (whilst cycling..) my a white V8 M3 in Wandsworth, with probably the best sounding exhaust note i've heard on one.. sounded like a proper V8, the BMW version of an AMV8.

In the end it was an DCT M3 in Yas Marina Blue Adam. Yes it had the head-up display and yes I liked it! Helped with the warp factor performance!

Liked: performance, looks, interior, seats (superb), head-up display, steering (particularly in Sport +)

Disliked: Not much really.

Anyone who thinks the M3 is too subtle perhaps needs to have another look. It's way more purposeful than the E92 and has the same big arched muscular look as the E46 had.

I must admit I thought it was sensational. The performance is stonkingly fast. The in-gear acceleration and torque is immense. It really is way, way faster than my car. Not even close and apart from a GTR/911 Turbo I can't think of anything this side of £100k that would trouble it. Superb value for money.

But...I don't think it's the car I'm looking for. I don't need the practicality but for a one-car person who needs a car to perform several different roles it is absolutely nailed on.

Got the guy who owns the gardening company to come look at the car and he realised it was them and he gave me cash to get the car fixed

So I missed the Lakes and Dales run. :(

Still had a good days driving today, in the Other M (mazda) and met some new friends, who I can now talk into buying Zeds. :D

...spent a grand, none of which was on my car. In the process, saved £300 off RRP

Stretched my auto mechanical skills to the max and fitted some new number plates :D

Need to do the tax disc now - that looks tricky :P
