Inspired by similar on other forums I thought I'd start this off.

Have been introduced to a lot of good music over the years this way. Hopefully this will do the same.
This can be your favourite track, something that has meaning to you or something you've just heard and would like to share with others.
Must contain an embedded youtube link so we haven't got to go looking for the song.
Also a few words about the track would be nice.

Can I suggest one song per post but I'm gonna start with 5 to give you an idea.

1. BECK - Debra.
Don't know when I first heard this song but it always ends up on my mobile,ipod,ipad etc and is a song I never tire of.
A big favourite of Beck fans.

2. PALMA VIOLETS - Best of Friends.
Current darlings of the music press. This track tops the NME's track of the year for 2012. Very exciting band.....no album yet but should be a cracker if the handful of material I have heard is anything to go by.

3. ALT-J - Tessellate
The song that turned me onto Alt-J. Deserved winners of this years Mercury Prize for the excellent album "An Awesome Wave".

4. PLAN B - Ill Manors
I've been a big fan of Ben Drew since his 2006 debut album "Who Needs Actions When You Got Words" followed by the commercial "Strickland Banks" and now "Ill Manors".
Some of his best material though is on two "Mixtape" albums. Just love this track.

5. THE MACCABEES - Toothpaste Kisses
This one has a special meaning to me. Was played during a Video/Photo montage of my eldest daughter & son in law at their wedding this year. It was showing photos of them together over the many years they'd been together. Brings a lump to my throat whenever I hear it.

This is an old mates band,which him and the lead singer have recently just left,and went onto form another band/but i still like this stuff as well.
They played at t-in the park,circa mid-noughties,and saw them again a couple of yrs ago in Glasgow.
Very good gig. :thumbsup:

The bands called The Day I Snapped.

His new bands been formed with my mate(Richie Bradford),and Alan/lead singer from day i snapped,along with Richies Big bro,David....they therefore have a similar sound,and are called......

I've had Frank Ocean's stunning debut album Channel Orange on repeat during my commute this week.

Not normally a fan of R&B but this guy does things a bit differently.

Heres the standout track for me "Bad Religion".

Yeah,cant imagine what i will be listening to when i get to 60s...have often thought it would be weird to hear a pensioner listening to the likes of Eminem,NWA,Lil' Wayne,Linkin Park,The Killers and all the other stuff i listen to,haha....but like u,Jim,if i ever end up listening to "easy listening" stuff,then put me to sleep,lol.
