To Stubby or not to Stubby......

This seems to be one of the most popular, cheap and easy mods to do, however I am unconvinced.

Can I possibly be wrong against the powerful tide of all you stubby enthusiasts........?

What is wrong with the good old oem aerial?

:fuelfire:

Stubby's look cool ,but reception suffers, sometimes quite badly. Depends how vain you are I guess. I think the std one looks ok,all cars have them, and to have poor radio reception would not encourage me to change.

I do believe im with left98 , why stubbie ? , I dont think the zed needs a stubby to look cool and , I do feel size matters,,,,,,,,,,,, :P

I like the look so much more with the stubby and as I never listen to AM radio the loss of signal is a non-issue for me.....it's your car, do whatever you want, just don't paint it pink

I think the stubby looks better, is less inviting to vandals and receptiom is fine for me.

tend to agree stubby smartens up the rear and for 4-5 quid if you don't like it you can swap back...

Whilst in a 'Home Depot' in the states recently, I was tempted into buying a 'Stubby Wrench' for $2, and I imagine it does exactly what the name implies - so watch out if you're coming to the National Meet in the Lakes in July, 'cos the wrench is coming out to play
p.s. Receptions worse, but hey there's often a price to follow fashion 8)

I personally prefer the look of the original, but know I am very much out voted on here! :idunno:

I like the original too. It's already hard to see as it's black. These youngin's don't remember those great big silver colored things we used to have (that telescoped up and down, some even had motors--which always broke!)

The current Jag XK still has one... :headbang:

I say “Down with all things stubby”

Also “mines smaller than yours” just doesn’t seem right.

Nah - they changed it on the facelift! Even Jag realised!

stubby suits the car much more imo. haven't noticed any drop in reception and... the OEM aerial looks like its being strangled with the wire winding up around it :fuelfire:

Maybe it is the vocal minority that like the stubby

Perhaps us original aerial lovers are in the majority, just don't shout about it so much....... :poke:

I must be one of the few people who preferes the standard one. The stubby looks too aftermarket to my eyes.
