To Spoiler or Not To Spoiler......

Hi Peeps,

I just want some peoples opinion on the BMW Aerodynamic Spoiler. I have a bright red roadster and I am unsure if it will look good on it. Does anyone have any pictures of a bright red roadster with the spoiler on? Currently I am running 19" black alloys on the car so I think it will look good but if anyone has got some images that would be great.

Also, does anyone know where I can get one of these spoilers and how are they fitted to the boot. Are the glued on or drilled etc...

Thanks,
M

Buy the spoiler from Joe at Sopers, they will supply it painted. I believe it just sticks on. They look the same on the car no matter the colour IMO :D Prefer the alpina spoiler myself though

Im not keen on either type, just doesnt seem to work with the Z4

Is Joe at Sopers the manager there or just the parts man? Will Sopers be a better price compared to popping to my local BMW dealership (Twickenham)?

Not sure of his exact job title but he is the man to deal with. They will almost certainly be cheaper than your local dealers.

personally I think any spoiler looks totally naff on the z4. there is enough going on with the back end without adding to it.

Some pictures of the spoiler would be great. The best price I have found so far is from MStyle - £250 fitted and painted. Does that sound like a reasonable price?

opposite.. ive got the spoiler and really dislike the look without one... and yes definately sticks on

Agree, I like the look with it. Easy to stick on with the 'glue' supplied but make sure you mark the position exactly using masking tape before you offer it up and then secure in place again using masking tape until the glue has set.

Personally i would not fit one.............. with the power i have to the back wheels who needs more :P ( i presume that what it does!!!)

Well covered before and a resounding 'no'.

Not that it really matters but aerodynamically the bootlid was shaped to create the exact right amount of downforce for a road car (not just accomodate a brake light).

Truth is though each to their own and it's all about what the driver likes.

Makes it look like it has Donald Ducks lips, you'd have to be quackers

The Zed looks great with or without the spoiler. Won't offer much in the way of performance but if you like the look of it, go for it

Not a fan of one myself.. but then i dont find it particularly obscene either.

I saw a Z4 with an M3 style boot lip spoiler.. looked like another subtle alternative.

Trust BMW design and say no!! If it looked better with it or needed it would come with one.

Can't quite agree with this, I do regarding the spoiler, but most folk on here would get Aero Skirts if they could at a decent price.

IMO the spoiler ruins the lines of the car.The rear is the best angle on the car,why ruin it with max power add ons.
