Of course….. I always want to sell my NSX and then I drive it….. with my Z4MC it’s not as easy as I have yet to have an event free drive in it so it’s still on the naughty step! But once we can work out where the clonk comes from we should be in clear water and ready to go

Lord I could never have sold that Taz.

That is my dream Z4. Mine only went because it was wrecked, due to a daft person pulling out of a T junction 20ft in front of me. That gave me the opportunity to re-assess my requirements and having just retired I took the cheap option of a tidy great handling Mx5. But without the S54 there will always be a small hole in my life.

proper colour that, there was z4mc in that colour for sale not long back, it looked stunning….very rare colour I wouldn’t rush that off

I got a step further than that with my first Z4. I'd just had an unexpected £800 bill and someone joined the forum looking for one, so we arranged for him to drive down to view it in Sandhurst from Ipswich.

I had to go out the next day so decided to take it for one last drive instead of my daily, and sure enough that evening he called me to pay a deposit on it - I didn't have the heart to change my mind, so on Wednesday I left a deposit on my 2nd one.

But you'd wait forever to find another MR like yours so if you are any doubt at all just keep it, and maybe drive it a bit more!

Yes..... 17 years here its time for a change, this is very likely my last summer. Ive finally come to terms with it and its just a matter of time, i want a fresh challenge , i need something to really help put my business on the map, but whats coming is extremely exciting.... VERY nearly did a deal last week but sadly the finance company wanted me to put ABIT more in than i could at that moment, was gutted tbh, the deal was pretty much done but i've learned over the years everything happens for a reason.

Life's too short to not experience new things even if it inevitably comes with abit of regret now and again.

Byron, your situation is a little different from others who are considering selling a car they’ve owned for years because it doesn’t interest them to the same extent that once it did.

You have the prospect of a Porsche GT product to distract you from the impending loss of a car you’ve cherished and developed for most of your adult life. For you, there’s a tough trade ahead, but one that will ultimately lead to a phenomenal car and (hopefully) increased opportunities and visibility for your business. I’m certain you don’t want to sell your Zed, but your want for the Porsche exceeds the dissonance you’re anticipating when you say goodbye to your pride and joy! If the opportunity was there, wouldn’t you want to own them both?

In an idle moment, I’ve thought about selling all my impractical cars and consolidating into one - if I did, I’d probably buy a McLaren 650S spider and be bankrupted by maintenance costs! However, I love the contrasting spectrum of cars I own at present, from a thumping V8 through to a light-weight screaming inline 4, via a beautifully balanced straight 6. I don’t think I want to lose any of them, especially my Zed after so many years of history together. The result for me is that I keep buying ever more cars and trying to find ways to justify it… It’s becoming more difficult with two young kids who’ll soon want to come along for the ride, so perhaps there’s change in my future too.

you've hit the nail on the head in this entire message, infact i couldn't have decoded the situation any better than you just have..... i shall deeply miss it deeply.... for all the reasons you list in such an eloquent manner, its just time. I imagine one day once i look back this will be a trade in that i will regret. The mix of emotions almost doesn't seem rational for a car but when you've owned something for nearly 2 decades i guess that is bound to happen. I will say however if it wasn't for the business that is helping me get into something REALLY special and the double whammy of increased opportunities this will bring us ( pretty certain it will with our social media plans), i wouldn't do this move, at all.

Nah.. not selling... ever!! ill pass it onto my son or daughter if they get the track bug. (its more looking like Indi, my middle kid)
