To redex or not to redex?

Guys, been talking to a friend of mine who uses redex on his car quite regularly. Anyone had any experience of using it? Any efficiency, performance improvements seen?

It helped my Grande Punto Sporting diesel but apparently there's no need to put it in the Zed...

If you do a search for fuel additives there's a previous thread which should give you some additional information.

Great, I'll check that out. Cheers :)

I agree with sk93.

You're better off putting the money into better fuel and more regular servicing.

don't do it.. really.
sure, you may see initial benefits, but decoking an engine is often not a good idea - especially if it's an old(ish) engine (say, 7-10 years....)

Ok, the more I read and hear, I think I'll give it a miss.

And putting the money into a decent service/fuel goes without saying. :) anything to help the life of the zed is a good thing with me!

Be aware that some garages can make a lot of profit on fuel additives they may try to persuade you it's a good thing. I had a service receptionist tell me it was all about how injectors squirt and spray!

Andi.
