To old to roadster?

40 ??? I ve got underwear that old..... but that's another story. :D

We've got three roadsters and I'm 56 yrs old. and my GF is 50 something and she loves hers too. There's nothing like blasting across the western states on a hot summer day...top down, starting to look, and smell, like a roasting chicken on a spit...who needs that sunscreen...I do

i'm think of starting a new thread: to young to coupe?
Taz, you ever looked at the average person driving a roadster ? over here most have either grey or no hair... :P :P

I'll get a coupe someday, maybe when I'm 75, unless I find an M6 coupe for cheap somewhere before that...

cheers mate.

You should go with your instincts and not worry what others think, if you feel you are getting too old and soft it may be better to get a coupe :poke:

I didn't realise people over 50 used forums, my dad can barely use the internet :P

Never too old for the roadster I just think the weather sometimes doesn't suit it so much in the UK but with the full summer ahead, don't think about changing up til Sep/Oct time.

I'm 30 btw and drive a roadster and a leon although am thinking of consolidating to a single car...likely an S3 but maybe I'm thinking of getting too old too soon :driving:

Who do you think invented the world wide web ??? :P :P My dad was building his own computers from spare bits and bobs when he was 65, he's 87 now. :poke: :poke:

I wish I was that good ....

I' shan't see 50 again and don't think about too old for a roadster - no way.

Met a guy in his 70's at a breakfast meet. Imported and old Healey racer from the US.

Restored it and now drives it as often as he can. No roof, no screen and some goggles - way to go

very nice car

this car is right hand drive?????

Roadster to die for. UK car exported. V8 fitted, and used as a racer. Imported back. V8 chucked. Factory period race engine fitted and car sorted. A good few £k of car. Sounded fantastic, like something Fangio would drive,

Drove home today with the top down (10c temp) and I think I'm at the beginning of a crisis. Am I to old at 40 to be driving a roadster? To add to this I've found myself being drawn more to the coupe of late, which I used to hate!

It's overused, but you're only as old as you feel. If you feel too old at 40 maybe you are. :fuelfire: I'm north of 50 and don't plan on giving up my top down motoring anytime soon.

In the end life is all about different strokes for different folks. Maybe your time for a roadster has passed but I don't think age is the issue, it's just a matter of our likes and dislikes changing as we experience different joys. After a few years in a coupe you may find once again that a roadster captures your heart.

Just my 2¢

As long as you're happy driving it you're never too old for it. In my M3 vert if it was 5 degrees+ and sunny it was roof down time

And there's nothing wrong with being drawn to a coupe... I'm suspecting you're trying to use your age as reason to shift to the coupe

You're only as old as the girl you feel

Another one of those threads where the real answer is "who gives a s**t what anyone else thinks?" If you enjoy it then that's the important point

I'm 48 and have been driving a roadster for over 25 years now and never plan on quitting. I've had 3 Triumph TR7 Roadsters - still have the 3rd (I'm sure you UK boys can feel sympathy for me) - and only in recent years can I afford to drive an ///M.

This is a dangerous time for you Sean, when you will be tempted by the dark side of the Z4. Don't give in, trust your feelings...

Thanks for all the positive comments. Thanks Taz for stirring it! I think the answer is to get a new toy for the roadster, thinking of an OEM wind blocker. God, it's a bit like a marriage this roadster ownership!

My theory is once over 30 you are be de facto not cool any more ..... so you can do exactly what you want without worrying about being cool ................and its ace !
