To change, or not to change, that is the question…

More relevant RE 326s + E89 arch gap i would seriously consider tweaking the profiles to 215 40 19 or 235 35 19 fronts / 255 35 19 or 265 30 19 rears .

Agree with this. You can have minutes of fun (or weeks in my case) on www.willtheyfit.com playing around with widths and profiles. You can effectively give the look of lowering springs (arch gap) while giving more of a cushion for the chocolate 326s. Just make sure they A) fit the rim widths and B) fronts and rears keep very similar circumference ratios or it can potentially upset the DSC

As for tyre makes.....I find the black round ones are the best! :D

“Black round ones” 🤣🤣
Thanks for suggestions so far. I’ve used Continental on many work cars successfully. I’ll look at Avon, alongside the Yokohama and also been suggested (elsewhere) the Uniroyal (currently an offer with KwikFit which gets 4 fitted for £600).
Today I’m off to get the front boots changed on the Beetle (that’s just eaten into my budget grrr) A

I was just looking at Kwik Fit for tyres for something and remembered this. They’ve got a discount on the Conti’s just now. £220 difference between them and the Michelin’s. Quidco also doing 2.5% cashback on Quidco

FWIW I went up to 235’s and 265’s on my 35iS to increase the wall size but kept it all within any tolerances
