To Black or not To Black

So i have been considering blacking out the front of the E89 but i cant decide for certain if i prefer it or not. I have looked at a couple on autotrader in blue that are blacked out and i am still undecided. When i go to the car i actually quite like the chrome look

What would you do?

Mine. seems to have additional plastic inside the bottom areas of the bumper that i don't see on anything other than on 35i models. Can these just be removed?

i like the black look.

on my le mans blue E90 i swapped the chrome grille for a gloss black one, much prefer it.

If you went with the gloss black grills you’d have to remove those silver faux strakes in the lower grills..a positive result overall..imho

I'm not a fan of the grey, so I'd definitely go black.

My Montego Blue Coupe had the standard kidney grilles with chrome surrounds and grey slats, but I replaced them with a pair with black slats as I thought they it looked so much better.

Black will be better for sure but how about black grills and the two trims at the bottom, the outer bit that goes around in DSB and the middle piece in black. That trim is in two pieces, I had mine done in black as my car is black and the middle piece in the same grey as I did my brake calipers.

sounds like black is overwhelmingly the preferred look.

I will probably go black and remove the grey in the lower grill area, maybe it will look better in the flesh (the one in the pic didn't blow me away). That way if i want to go "back to black" (no Amy Winehouse pun intended) i can do very easily.

IMHO, match your wheels.

If only! We have to display a front plate in the UK.

Probably because we have some front facing speed cameras, like the one that caught me last year.

yeah i am still torn, not rushing into it anyway.

Wish i could ditch the from plate but it sis a legal requirement int he UK. :x

I went with a newer style black grill. I like it much better but kept the original just in case. :wink:
