To all Black Z4 Owners - Black or Grey?

Hi all! I'm set on buying a Z4 coupe in Black or Grey with Red leather. The question is to black Z4 owners do you regret the colour choice? Is black really that hard to live with?

With my budget the car will have around 40-50k miles on it already and will be used as a everyday car. I'm very fussy with my cars so will be cleaned every weekend. Also I own all the equipment, clay, rotary polisher etc so I will polish and wax the car as soon as I have it and keep it topped up with quick detailed etc

I'm thinking black will shine like no other colour but grey might be the safer option but lack the wow factor when clean?

What's your opinion?

There's nothing so beautiful as a freshly cleaned black Z*, so if you will be caring for it properly then get black. You will find grey too dull.




*of course an imola red ///M is more beautiful, but not yet in my possession...

This...

Black paintwork is very hard to maintain to a high standard,it really does highlight every blemish,stonechip,hologram and scratch..

My last Z4M roady was Black Sapphire and i was cleaning it 3 times a week as it was a daily driver..I initially put over 20 hours paint correction to get it to an acceptable level..When perfect,there is nothing better though...

My silver grey coupe has 12 hours correction with 2 more hours to go...Currently washed 4 times in 2 weeks... :thumbsup:
 
Go for black but with the mindset that it will either be totally clean and sparkling, or leave it so it goes completely filthy and dusty. Nothing quite like a really dirty black fast car :thumbsup:
 
Mine was black sapphire with imola red leather & if you plan to keep it clean you won't regret it, black looks awesome when clean but grey will be easier to maintain but I would still go black, I have owned three black cars & love the look of them when they are clean & shiny! :)
 
Black - haven't washed mine since August so it looks like sh1t but when it is clean it looks magnificent.

If I had grey it would still look like sh1t when it was dirty but wouldn't look half so good when it was clean!

definitely not black imo.

my other halfs car is a daily driver and every weekend she wants it washed. mine is grey and definitely looks the part when clean, but also hides the dirt well.
 
When black is cleaned to almost mirror finish, few other colours can come close...

Just need to find the right coupe 8)
 
Ours in black is okay. It does look well clean. exactly as above with dream red seats. I wouldn't fixate on the colour though. How it looks isn't that important when you are on the inside. Any colour drives well.
