Titanium Silver Power-Fold Mirrors + Module

On several occasions I have posted something that then didn't show.
That's life when it comes to t'Internet.
I merely posted it again and made sure I could see it on the thread to be certain.

Not disputing all the rights and wrongs, just pointing out that a simple check would easily have saved this molehill from ever becoming a mountain.

Or “The early bird gets the worm”

I think a PM sent indicates the registering of an intent to buy. Regardless of offering the asking price or less, the sticking point could be collection distance, time window for collection, etc so until that conversation is complete I’d say the item is temporarily off sale, until either the buyer declares ‘out’ or the seller posts ‘still available’

Had a PM been sent and not declared on the thread, then I see slightly more grounds for a grievance.

Surly if you had followed your “missing” I’ll take them post with a PM at the same time, all this confusion wouldn’t of happened. Then MrWilkes would of been the one bichin over a lost purchase but the OP would of had the notification of missing post to back you up.

I guess you live and learn.

That's bollocks. Not the rules of forum...

Ok , last on this from me as i've no intention of getting into a tit for tat spat or inflaming the situation .
Its there for all to see , whatever waffle you want to throw up about your email , inbox-outbox whatever box a quick scan through your forum history tells me all i need to know , its rammed full with so many similar threads to this that i lost interest at page 10 , its almost like a personal crusade of yours & littered with references to problems with emails / private mails , txts whatever .
So my "PM sent" should have said "PM sent i'l take them" ? whichever it still wouldn't have altered the timeline for you so console yourself with that .
Keep quoting the forum rules if it makes you feel better , i can't say i was totally 100% in the right but it seems a vast majority of sale posts are completed this way without further issues or gripes .
Probably not want you want to hear but if it helps "Vanne" has a similar pair for sale with the door control panel included .

Fine, you flout the rules since it works in your favour even when you admitted you were wrong. I'm not on any crusade at all.. If you can't be fair and transparent like I'm trying to be then so be it if it makes you feel better. It's the principle behind what is done that annoys me. I said hours before you that I'd take them but it wasn't displayed. I didn't send a PM first. I posted on the thread like I did again in the morning. If you can't follow the rules after being here so long (or think that makes you above them) then I guess the rules should just be abandoned and it becomes a free for all... Guzumping, higher offers etc etc.. I wasn't being particularly personal towards you, you were merely the one that thought it OK to go against what's stated for all..

In all fairness Hagasan you may have tried to negotiate a lower price or offered to buy and then retracted by deleting your post - we will never know. You may then, having seen mr wilks post, tried to pull a fast one and get the item even though he had indicated that he wanted it - we will never know..... Nice try though

Hagasan I've had similar experiences myself. I think I've messaged saying "interested, PM sent" and someones still managed to swoop in beneath me and snap it up. Sh*t happens, life goes on.

This is why it's best to be clear on the thread in question, or else you're at risk of missing out. Hence my opinion to avoid the PM until you've explicitly expressed interest to buy. In the real world, a PM sent is often an indication to buy subject to clarification of some sort, which is what I believe mr wilks did (and so naturally a sale progressed from there). Without there being a post above mr wilks it's hard to prove you got there first. Since a sale was agreed and committed to before you successfully managed to posted I think this is rightfully mr wilks's.

I think many of you do not understand the meaning of transparency and fact the rules state the first person who offers the full asking price on the thread is the one who should be able to purchase the item. Sending "PM sent 👍" isn't exactly declaring anything.. Anyway, there's far more important things to deal with than this. It's just a pity when money is involved integrity goes out the window...

In that case it's a real shame for you that your original post was so transparent that no-one could see it. :poke: :D

It is common knowledge that “PM sent” indicates that one is seeking to make a purchase and get a deal done.

I’m surprised that you don’t seem to be aware of this.

Besides, the purpose of this thread is for the OP to sell a set of wing mirrors, which have been available for circa 4 years...and yet you are bickering because you missed out on them by 30 mins. Two words mate: tough luck.

I did post on here last night just after midnight but didn't see the post list. I thought it had gotten lost in another forum so edited it.. The moderator should be able to track that if necessary?

The reason your post is not there is that you deleted it.

Yes Mr Wilks could have said "I'll take them, PM sent", but the seller has confirmed the sale within the hour.

You just need to suck this one up.

Well  delete your own post then have a tantrum  that's a new one :P maybe lay off the sherry for a while
Not a totally wasted morning , i have enjoyed reading through your posts Hagasan ( initially trying to find what it was you bought from me as i couldn't recall it ) but soon hit on a recurring vibe running through the majority of them  there are some vintage toys out of the pram moments that amused me greatly , the "15mm spacers" one was good , the "hoist / heist" forum+ebay ad particularly funny but i think the silvergrey ZMC last summer was my favourite :P the one where you end up buying a £60k motorbike as a consolation :D brilliant

Tbh I did the same a few weeks ago with a strutbrace, just a PM.

This is not a site where you pay fees for Buying/selling so rules cannot be policed to perfection, there is a degree of interpretation as just a PM, i think most get what that means, it’s a free marketplace so folk just have to accept they miss items at times, I’ve missed things...meh...it happens.

Could we have a smiley, perhaps jumping up and down, waving arms in the air, with a banner saying 'I'll have it! Me! Me!Me! Me first!'
