The time has come to say goodbye to my trusty Z4 coupé, and at this lowered price (originally £4950), is a great way to move in to Z4 Coupé driving.
I've been a Zed owner for the past 14 years, and the happy owner of this particular car for 7 years. I purchased this car from a forum member at the time, so there will be bits of extra history available somewhere in the distant past on here. If you look at a car search you will find this is registered as a Cat C car (now Cat S). This was way back in its very early days in 2007, and has lived a long, full and happy life since then.
This car has been my daily driver in all the years of my ownership. I was apprehensive about changing to an auto at the time, but this zed has been a pleasure to drive and has been a truly reliable car.
This is a high miler - just over 186,000 of them. Saying that, mechanically, it hasn't missed a beat, but like most of us as we get older, there are the odd signs of wear and tear. Aside from the usual place under the boot lid, I'm glad to say there aren't any particular rust/bubbling areas to speak of. This car does have a firm ride, so I do try and avoid any bumps and manhole covers, over uneven roads it does sometimes have a knocking sound from the front area which settles down after a few seconds.
Having said that, this Z4 coupé still has so much going for it... and looks absolutely amazing. The 18" flow formed alloys really lift the styling of the car, and during my ownership I have replaced the standard black SE interior with the red leather sports seats and door cards, along with adding the chunky multi-function steering wheel. No issues with the original folding display and sat nav, and it still has the original medical kit under the passenger seat!
Here is a rundown of what's what...
