Tires and Rims

Welcome to the forum. First things first - it's a great idea to post some good pics of your Zed. There are many threads discussing wheels on this forum that will help but you'll get better advice if people can see a picture or two.

Michelin pilot sport 4 & Goodyear eagles are a popular choice for most
You can run 19” wheels but leave yourself open to getting cracks in the wheels thanks to British roads which are like crossing the Himalayas
I have 19” with pilot sports on mine and have had no issues so far

Thanks all. I have a 2009 Z4 30i. These are the rims and tires I currently have. I don’t ride too aggressive. I’ve been told the Pirelli tires have a lot of loudness after awhile but are nice and grippy? Do you suggest I keep these 18 rims and just have the alloy redone? Can I get better performance than these Bridgestones? Budget not an issue as I plan to keep the car for decades and want to go with something good. I don’t drive it very much maybe 5,000 to 7,000 miles per year. I am 50/50 on 19s. Does bmw make and black 19 inch rims ? I still do like the style on these rims a lot. I guess I’m between Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone, any other considerations?

There's different opinions on wheel sizes and tyres Typically the 18s give you (supposedly) a less hard ride and don't crack. Whereas the 19s are nicer looking (in terms of the alloy filling the wheel arch slightly more) in my opinion and worth the risk. I had 296s on my first z4 with runflats and no cracking issues however on my 35is I have 326s which look the business but (rears) have cracked (on eagle non runflats) and now need welding/refurb. I now have set of 19" 442s on it with Bridgestone runflats and to be honest I don't particularly notice any difference in tyre noise, harshness or steering vagueness over the eagles. If I were buying new tyres, ps4s would be my first choice..just from others recommendations. Its rather a minefield chosing completely new ones... and can cost a.lot of money.
