Tire wear

Hi all, Just got home in time for Easter and took the Zed in for it's annual MOT yesterday and got told the nearside rear is close to legal limit. These were a new set of runflats fitted by the dealer when I got the Zed 16,000 miles ago. OK it's 3.0 but usually driven well and not thrashed, does that seem fast wear or normal. Possibly this will be a good excuse to go non runflat as a set of 4 is probably less than two rear runflats.

thanks

Lots of factors envolved, but somebody here got through a set of rears on an ///M in 2,500 miles, me 16-20,000 on rears fairly normal

Thanks for the info guys but checking my rear tyres the main grooves are good just the thin horizontal grooves on the inner edge are the problem and UK law is 1.6mm for the mid 75% width so I think this inspector was over cautious.

Just had my second set of falken 452's fitted today, what came off gave me 16000 miles two track days and still had a bit left to be honest but the Nurburgring trip next week demands fresh rubber, i can't recommend this tire strongly enough, it's time everyone woke up and smelt the coffee on this one guys these tyres are half the price of branded c rap by comparison and this car is alive on them....
