Tire Pressures for the track - Z4M coupe

Hi Guys,

Did some research on here and see that Alan's recommending 31/32 (hot) for the track. I'm on the stock wheels and contis.

Thanks!

I've always tracked on PS Cups so this may not be relevant but I've never gone above 30psi HOT otherwise the treads started to break up under heavy abuse. As a guide I found that 24psi when stone cold became 30psi once the tyres were up to full race temperature. I always bring the car in after 3 to 5 laps and quickly check the pressures. That gives the tyres time to get up to temp without doing much harm if they are totally wrong.

I run 19s so again not perhaps transferrable but i'd agree with Curtis, you need to get around 29 or so hot which means about 25 cold and then checking them after a few laps. I run 29 front and 30 rear when cold on the road which is well below BMW recommendations but works for me.

Depends on a bunch of factors -In my experience on the OE's; the car works best on a tight track where sharp turn in is required at ~ 38-40 front & 34-36 rear HOT - I don't even run the above temps cold?
