Tints group buy?

Hi

Just a feeler. I have had a couple of my work cars and personal cars done in Manchester to a very high standard and reasonable rates. I just picked up an A7 which looked great and asked the question RE Zed 4's. The price for 3 windows is normally £150 but if we get 8-10 cars he will do them at £100 a car. The work is all guaranteed for 12 months and if there is any issues with tints, he replaces without question. He is a genuine guy that I have used many time's before.

I know its not for everyone, but if it helps the offer is there?

shame its manchester a bit to far from me, i am seriously thinking of getting the headlights and rears tinted
I would Dal, rid the ginger brother :poke:
getting rid of the ginge seems to much hassle ,i do keep an eye out for cheap face lift non ginge ones , but like the idea of making them a bit darker too

Surely doing the side windows on a z4 would be illegal? Thought it was only legal to do the rear plus rear windows on a car with rear windows.

All front windows a no no.

Even the lightest tint on the front sends it over the required % because the windows already have a slight tint in them.

Hi

Tints are ok on fronts. Technically you can't go very dark but I've never had an issue to date.. Limo black is out the question of course but can have light grade at front with no issues from the rozzas

As I understand it windscreen has to let 75%+ of light to be transmitted and the side windows 70%+. So you can technically tint to that level but I have no idea what level factory glass is at to start with. And how many tint shops have the ability to measure?

You Are allowed a 8% clear film on front windows and even that could send it over the % limit so don't see the point.

The front driver and passenger window already have a slight tint from factory, might not look it but it does and therefore adding even the lightest tint could send it over the legal light limit.

mine is quite dark, been next to many traffic cops in traffic etc, never even had a second glance. if i have to remove them in the end then so be it, but been on three month's now and no hassle at all.

I had tints on a previous car, got pulled twice in 4 years. First I was sat at a red light with my mrs, got a £30 fine then waited around an hour for another copper to turn up to breathalyse me (hadn't had a drink) then on my way. Second time about a month later is was £30 + a prohibition stating that I could only drive home from work, then my car wasn't allowed on the road until it had been signed off by police to say the tints were removed. The very kind copper followed me to a car park (we were on the hard shoulder of the M60) and helped me remove the tints with a smile on his face so that he could cancel the prohibition order.

The glue that was left was impossible to remove, I couldn't see out or put the windows down. Pledge furniture Polish was the only thing that shifted it (I tried white spirit, petrol, nail varnish remover etc. before I went through the cupboard and tried everything out of desperation)

I would love tints but refuse to invite coppers to interact in any way :headbang:

I've seen a couple of Z roadsters with quite heavily tinted windows - they look ok roof up, but roof down / windows up they look terrible.

stongly disagree, the darker windows look much better when the hood is down vs clear, and you still get a little privacy if needed :)

if your bird is playing with your zhp etc

forgot to add, i think its a london thing with the tint's, so many cars are in london with dark windows seems like the rozzers have given up lol, would not fancy my chances headed far out of london tho, ive been pulled by cops in the sticks before and they dont seem to like the smokey folk :), but in london they could not give a toss.
