Tinted front fogs....legal?

As per title...anyone know if its illegal or an m.o.t. fail to have tinted front fog lights. Done mine to cover up the usual condensation problem. Thanks.

AFAIK you dont need to have front fogs, I tinted mine about 2 years ago for the same reason and it has passed 2 MOTs since

I reckon I'll go down that route - will try drilling holes in underside first, gotta sort them out after Zedfest yesterday :(

Front fog lights aren't covered - mine had a bulb out at the last MOT, now replaced, and wasn't a failure. Rear fog lights are an MOT requirement though.

The ///M doesn't even have any front fogs, but that missing headlamp washer would be an MOT failure.

Failed it's mot Saturday because the fuse for the headlight washers was out and I didn't realise they need to be working. The washer is there only the cover is missing til I get a new one, passed on re-test this morning without the cover on it..they just needed to work.

Mot wise it's side/dip and main on the front and that's it. Plus as above headlight washers need to work if fitted.

On the post face lift cars my preference would be to colour code them rather than tint. Tints look a little max power to me but the ones I've seen colour coded do look good.

Has anyone ever got to the bottom of why they deteriorate inside so quickly?
I was lucky enough to split mine without damaging them and respray with chrome paint but I'm expecting it to be an annual task!

As a pure guess I would've thought it was a fair bet the seal at the bulb holder is the culprit. Unless of course the actual light unit is compromised somewhere (stone chip etc)
