Times gone by

Came across this great piece of film, days when it was every pedestrian, cyclist, motorist and horse for themself. I bet those in their motors felt the bees knees amongst the horse and carts.

Love how people are almost playing chicken with the tram

Mesmerising footage - basically it's a free for all isn't it :D And every one wears a hat
The modern day footage of the same journey was a great contrast - wonder what that journey will look like in another 100 years?

Brilliant ! I just love this stuff. How spooky to see the Embarcadero there in the mist 100 years before it became a trendy market. If you enjoyed that then have a look at this.

Thanks for the link  Great piece of film and the year my dad was born, I just love the buses from that era.

Kinda sad most if not all people in the films are gone now.

Yup amazing. My dad was born in 1928 and is still with us :-) As you say sad that most if not all of these people will be dead. I love old films like this and also old photographs (I used to be a semi-pro photographer). You look at the people and think about what happened to them , who they were etc. I could look at them for hours.

I think the next 110 years will be scarier, but then I guess in 1906 you didn't know 2 world wars were looming, I think thats scary point now. Technology wise the next 110 will pretty exciting when you think back to 1906 and what little there was.
