Time to move on maybe.

I'm surprised to hear this Stuart but understand your reasoning, someone's going to get a cracking car there, if you fancy selling your aero skirts separately give me a shout .......

If only I'd still been in the market, this little beauty could have tempted me to stay in a roadster. Ho hum, nev mind.

Good luck with the sale Stu - shame to see her go :) / :(

That might be a good option for Stuart, and it'll probably make for a faster sale as a lot of people won't necessarily be interested in modifying the car (even with OEM parts) and might well balk at paying a higher price because the sale includes parts that they don't need/want. Same goes for the hardtop, it's a nice extra but not everyone wants one...

I'm looking to get back into a low mileage Z4M, had an 08 from new, regretted selling it.

PM me if you are serious about selling.

Cheers

Steve

As Ruby says, good luck Stuart. I'm having similar thoughts. I'm having a go in an Exige S3 next month to see if it's worth saving up for.

To be honest I'm seriously having thoughts of moving on too. Love my Zed and really no problems but hardly getting any use past 8 months due to work being so near and having no car park so using the Polo. Also been spending weekends revising.. Had an exam in April..another biggie in Oct, no free time to go driving. Just seems pointless keeping the Zed right now. Then the £500 road tax coming up next month...

Bloody hell, you're going to be pushing the prices down at this rate guys ;-) saturating the market!

Sorry for starting this exodus and underpricing the value of my car :D

Not yet Steve. The deal at home with cars is I can do what I want as long as it doesn't put the important stuff at risk (which pretty much means kids education). Eldest finishes at the end of the month, younger one has a year to go.

An F430 is a bucket list car and I might go down that route in a couple of years time if all goes well at work and no other expensive surprises come up. I won't borrow money for cars, I use my car allowance and bonuses so I'll have to save up. For now I'm going to test drive an Abarth 595 special edition, and if I like it will run that as the fun wheels for a couple of years.

all those f430's gallardo's etc are dream cars, untill you actually drive them, done a trackday driving an f430, r8 v10, and gallardo, what a let down lol.

the f430 felt like a alfa romeo inside, build was atrocious in the cockpit, all cheap sprayed plastic etc, its only the name that makes for the high price of these cars.

i was happy to get back in the z, the only one that felt decent quality was the audi.

and one more important thing to mention, all this 0-60 in 3.9 4.0 secs stuff is total shite, at a proper timed gps run im sure these cars could pull of some great times, but in the real world? psh, what a let down, have a new found respect for bmw.

I was invited to the Huracan depositors drive day with Lamborghini at Millbrook and it sure is an everyday car unlike the Gallardo

so so so many people hold these ferrari, lambo in high order but unless you going for something special they can imo feel rather ordinary, the f30 and gallardo (unless scud or superleggra) particularly feel nothing special at all but look great, performance is decent but no mind blowing, now if you want REAL , and i mean REAL performance that will translate to awesome track times porsche GT3 is where its at, but i can't lie the newer stuff like the speciale are entering into serious levels of performance with all the drama you expect from italians, the 650s again awesome.. BUT... 200k+

unless you have that type of money SOME of the exotica is all about looking and sounding good and don't quite have the bite to match the bark.
Getting more and more into the Porsche brand at the moment, i LOVE them, But ill always have love for the ///M brand too, they make some stinking cars for the real world man that can punch well above the price tag...

Well the original idea was a dud, so I'm holding on to her for now, unless someone rocks up with the asking price in which case I'll have a serious conversation. I'm test driving a new M3 in the next couple of weeks which will be interesting. I have a couple of months off work from October (sabbatical program, not a new job) so will see what finances are like after that. Daughters will have both finished their expensive education by then. Pressure at home to have one car each and my daily mileage has fallen through the floor so running something like that is a possibility. There's no panic to change so I'll keep the zed mint and see how life pans out. An f430 is a bucket list car, but there's plenty of time for that yet.
