Hey everyone.

So, my car got the all clear mechanically which is great however been thinking of a bigger car for practically.

Inwas offered a 2010 plate 320i Coupe with 10k miles on it. However I've heard so many people talking about issues with coil packs and injectors on these engines. Not sure how much of it is true. Does anyone else think I'm mad for considering a swap? Mostly running costs and seating issues are reasons for considering swap.

Sad day ..... :(

The hydro unit too is also an issue on them. Used to be around a 2k fix but now nearer £500 given you can get a garage to do it without wanting to do all the investigative work. Injectors weren't really much of an issue and well coilpacks are the same the world over now a days and BMW did recall and replace them all even if people hadn't had any issues with them. Coilpacks can go at anytime unfortunately but fortunately they are a quick and easy fix even to do yourself.

If you keep thinking about all the things that *might* go wrong you'll never buy a car. If it's a good deal for you then why not go for it. What I will say is low millage is no indication that any issues won't crop up as if heard of hydro units going at 80k etc and then mines went at 14k and 4 years old but that's sometimes the way it goes.

Oh and is it manual or auto? Either way don't expect it to give great MPG, that engine can be quite guttless and you may see figures that are lower than your current 3.0l
