What do people do with their time off? I have two weeks off (forced) I have too much leave to take still have 30 days to use before april, it might sound easy to use but the next time I can really have time off is christmas which will be three weeks off so 15 days (weekends don't count) and the occasional long weekend which I don't mind but for the love of god I'm bored and I'm 2 days in, eceryone I know is busy at work or can't get time off and I just find my self sitting around....

Any suggestions of what to do?

Pity you don't live closer to me. I have lots of things to do here - gardening, decorating, car cleaning......... :D

Drive the Zed?

Clean the Zed

Sort stuff at home?

DIY/Decorating

Do some work on a hobby (if you have one)

Day trips out?

I cant drive all day every day as much as I'd love to, the cars clean the house is clean there only so much cleaning you can do before it becomes pointless, I like going out and doing things it just becomes boring when I'm alone, I'm a social person it makes me unhappy to be alone

How ever I do need a new hobby but nothing much out there flicks my switches (now you all think I'm just annoying and picky)

Oh and I don't have all the money in the world before people start saying build a death star and try to take over the world, i've worked out the figures simply not enough cash

Boredom is a state of mind . You must be fortunate in enjoying whatever it is you do workwise therefore not necessarily appreciate being away from it ?
Everyone is different but i,m just starting my 4th month off ( unplanned sabbatical ) & not missing work yet or finding myself bored
I will get back in the groove at some point but for now i'm enjoying the freedom & time off the tresdmill

If you haven't got a dog then get a Border Terrier  you,l never be alone again & they love a walk whatever the weather

Roy make the most of it, I look after an elderly parent and would love time where I wouldn't know what to do.

I haven't had a proper holiday in years. You're a lucky chap.

Tim.

Yipes, two weeks off and don't know what to do with your self. :o

Fill the Tank on the Zed and head for the Euro tunnel. Drive to Monza and back. You should just about have time. :driving:

Jump on the train into Smoke and catch a few West end shows. :D

Get your self a Kyack and a tent & head off on the Broads.

Indeed - I'll be doing that shortly. Really 2 weeks is loads of time to travel someplace, cheaply with or without the zed or company. Lots of people would love to buy that time from you so catch a plane to Europe somewhere interesting and see somewhere new ! jealous - me - yes !

Get a quadcopter and learn to fly it in your garden/park/field

Take some photos and movies, make a short film, post the link and let's see how bored you can make the rest of us?

Organise a run for the forum - get the maps out and start to plan a days hooning - great fun and very satisfying on the day.

Sort out some paperwork or your digital photos. . . . I know I should!

Contact friends/relatives you haven't seen for a while and set a time to meet for coffee and a catch up.
Go visit a relative you haven't seen in a while. Take an elderly friend /relative out for the day

Get a map out and pick a place to visit - amazing who you meet and what can happen. Last time I did this I decided to have a look at Spurn Head - travelled down from Newcastle and worth every mile.

Just checked where you're based - head up to the North East and check out the Northumberland Coastline and castles - it's stunning!

Get an OS map and hike part of the Pennine Way.

Take up photography or painting

Go cycling - lots of routes set up now and gain the benefits of fitness

There must be something you need to make or would like to have a go at - wooden birdhouse / log store / barbeque / re roof the shed - you get the idea.

Daft as it seems - read a book / biography. Listen to music

Visit a museum - visit a gallery

Sell that stuff you don't need on ebay.

Watch a box set of something you've always fancied seeing.

Get a keyboard / guitar / recorder / ukulele second hand and learn to play / make some music

I could go on. . . . .

:driving:

Come to my house, put on my work gear,go to my work place for two weeks pretending to be me.
SO I CAN DO FU@K ALL FOR TWO WEEKS!

Sounds like you live alone?

I found myself in this position about 15 years ago for a few years following the death of my first wife. While it was OK being at work and own the pub etc etc I used to hate weekends and holidays so I understand what you mean.

I just used to take off for a few days or week or two on singles holidays or I'd drive to somewhere I'd never been before and check in a hotel for a few days and explore the locality, always found some company and had an enjoyable time.

Not hard to fly but not easy to get good footage!

Clean Zed> Drive Zed> Clean Zed> Drive Zed

rinse and repeat

Take up photography so you can post your adventures on the :ilz4f:

Thanks for all the suggestions guys even though most involed your own house work 8) think I'll take a pass on that one, well I've arranged to meet a few friends and family before I return back to Ipswich for a week, then I'll think about going away for a few days if not definitely have the idea in my head to go in the zed across europe next year sometime, wish I had extended storage for skis

About the quad copter even though I've got my pilots selection tests in less than two weeks, I genuinely think id manage to crash this in to the sun, iv got a gopro just dont use it for anything other than skiing...
