My only negative comment on the Uniroyals would be they are soft and don't last as long as some other tyres I've had. They were otherwise brilliant.

I ran a brand new pair on the front of my ZM & whilst i didn't track the car it was pushed quite a bit in the twisties & I never experienced any downsides to these tyres that some do :?
I'm off to France shortly in my son's modified Scirocco R , it's cuurently running 340bhp (Fwd) on recently fitted 4 x 235 35 19 Uni RS3s so 1200-1400 miles many of which will be on the Normandy back roads should offer a good chance to offer a non Z slant on them :driving:
He also had a full set on his previous Golf R32 & always performed brilliantly for what has to be said is a considerable amount of £ less than any equivalents
They will never be MPSS or Conti5s but then they are half the money

Sound promising an as you say for half hte price of the best and nearly as much performance I can live with a little quicker wear. I only do around 6k miles a year so look forward to seeing how these perform.

For once I will be praying for rain on Monday to see how they handle in the wet...

Update...

So I went into Bolton Road Tyres in Darwen this morning.

Had the new Uniroyal RS3's fitted

I did pray for rain but its roasting today so havent had a chance to drive them in the wet. In the dry, first thoughts compared to the F1's...

Certianly a tad louder but nothing that i cant live with. The feedback seems just as good, braking performance is emmense but then they are brand new so will have to see how they go on. The grip seems very good but havent had a chance to fully test that yet

4 new RS3's balanced fitted and alignment all for £330!

I certainly reccomend these guys and the tyres too though I will give a full review once ove put some miles on them and tried them in the rain...

**Update**

So i have driven over a 1000 miles on these now and I am more than happy with him. Infact I would go as far as to say these are the best tryes Ive had on any BMW as all rounders. Yes the F1's are great in the dry but these RS3's in the wet are something else. Great grip, they dont tramiline and the price is a Bargain!!

thanks for posting the update. I'm currently in the market for some new tyres after buying a set of newly refurb'd 107's on the forum last week.

107's are the way to go and as for tyres, you will be hard pushed to beat these, especially this time of year!

Glad the RS3 Uniroyal's have not disappointed , for me at their pricepoint + performance there is no better all rounder & as you will have noticed they are epic on any form of wet or damp roads

My heart isnt in my mouth now when it rains, instead Im loving it!! IMHO everyone should have some fitted to their BM's!

I'm a fan of RS3 but as others have said they don't last long ....currently on Vred's which I think are better but don't yet have a view on longevity. (ZZ5's also decent for money but again don't last long, 10K on the rear of my 330d)

Good point - you have to factor longevity against the cost, in my experience VReds tick both boxes. I remember buying Pirelli P Zero's for my Audi few years back and they ran down in no time :(

Will update in a years time and see how they do but at less 2/3 the price of the vreds and half the price of the big brands if they last half as long or longer I'm happy!

I've got ZZ5s on my Zed and have done 8k on them with very little sign of wear. Tyres obviously wear differently on different cars. Vehicle weight, torque, road surface condition and driving style must also contribute greatly in affecting longevity.

Very true, must admit I do sometimes like to let the back end loose...

Absolutely, nothing lasts very long on the rear wheels with 30d levels of torque (and pleasure in using it ☺️) , but zz5 did disappear quickly.

My Vreds lasted well over 20,000 on the rears, 2.0i so I guess longevity would be better anyway?
