Time for new Tyres... Reccomendations Please

So the Z needs new shoes. Rears are practically on the limit... great for slides not great if i get stopped!

I did have Runflats when i bought the car and the best thing i ever did was change the tyres to F1's... what a difference. I dont want to spend a fortune but i do want decent performance... 18's split rims are the wheels

Done plenty of research last night and these are the 2 that stand out for me

Falken ZE914 £390 plus fitting

Barum Bravuris 3 - basically same as conti but different pattern and brand all 4 for £275 plus fitting

Suprisingly the Baurm get better reviews than most including the f1's

Any input much aprpeciated :)

Similar thread started yesterday , can't comment on the Barum as never tried them but I wouldn't pay that money for Falken when Hankook or Uniroyal can be had for the same if not less money

Falkens were receiving fantastic reviews on the 452/3. I've just put 18" 914's on for £365 fitted by event tyres so they're worth a go if you decide to do Falken.

I just had Falkens put on my e89 really pleased with them so far decent ride and grip. I was going to go with Uniroyals but my local tyre place did not have them in stock. They recommended the Falkens as an alternative.

Although I think any tyre would be an improvement after driving on run flats for the last 12 months.

Im starting to lean towards the Uniroyals purely as they seem to be great in the wet. My Z is a handful in the wet at the moment, can be either fun or scary as!!

Recently put Avon ZZ5's on my Zroadster.
After fitting them to my daughters car, good price good brand

Ive had these on my zed for the last 20k, fronts still look new & rears probably 70% worn, it feels stable on these tyres

Found a place who can do all 4 uniroyals for £310 fitted.

Only a 20 minute drive for me... sounds like a winner so far.

Will keep you posted.

uniroyal rainsport 3's are a fantastic tyre in both dry & wet, had them on my TTS and have fitted the to the Z4, you wont be disappointed especially at that price :D

Thanks pal.

Got it booked in for Monday. If all goes well will post the details they are based in Darwen Lancs.

Will keep you posted...

My only negative comment on the Uniroyals would be they are soft and don't last as long as some other tyres I've had. They were otherwise brilliant.

That tells me they're quite a hare compound if they're wearing slowly in such big mileage. Not the best for all round performance.

I ran a brand new pair on the front of my ZM & whilst i didn't track the car it was pushed quite a bit in the twisties & I never experienced any downsides to these tyres that some do :?
I'm off to France shortly in my son's modified Scirocco R , it's cuurently running 340bhp (Fwd) on recently fitted 4 x 235 35 19 Uni RS3s so 1200-1400 miles many of which will be on the Normandy back roads should offer a good chance to offer a non Z slant on them :driving:
He also had a full set on his previous Golf R32 & always performed brilliantly for what has to be said is a considerable amount of £ less than any equivalents
They will never be MPSS or Conti5s but then they are half the money
